Chris Martin Punches Journalist!
Ouch! Looks like Brad Pitt is a sensitive subject for Chris Martin. Chris told a journalist, Paul Reese, that he and Gwyneth Paltrow had been talking about how they have one of those silly arrangements (you know, everyone has a list) where he would be allowed to leave her for a certain starlet or she would be allowed to leave him for the singers from Westlife...hmm, strange choice, but that's besides the point.
Clearly bemused by Paltrow's choice and not giving himself time to
engage his brain, Rees blurted out: "You could have at least told her
Brad Pitt."
Chris responded,
"She was engaged to him, you f***er."
He then punched the journalist in the chest.
Temper! But then again, I can understand why Chris wouldn't really want to talk about that subject. A lot of men would probably feel insecure when compared to Brad.

I hate reporters that dont do RESEARCH before interviewing...I would have punched him in the face, and I prob wouldn't have said ANYTHING. I would have let him sit there and wonder "why the hell did this person just punch me in the face for that?" and then he could go home, and find out for himself hahahaha

i cant stand him or his overrated music. he always sounds like such an jerk...i could understand if he told the guy off or even cut the interview short, especially if the reporter was purposely being a wise ass, but you dont punch someone just for that, he needs to learn to control his temper.

I'm sure it was a playful punch, he doesn't care that much. When was the last time you even saw Chris and Gwynnie together? It's obvious they're estranged.
actually he's made comments in the past that indicate that he's insecure about her relationship with Brad Pitt. If my husband punched someone (even playfully) for bringing up an ex in that context i'd be pissed at my current husband. People should be secure in their relationships, that comment should have made him laugh not angry.

I can't remember time when Chris and Gwynneth were ever shown together. I'm sure it must have happened at some point. I just don't think they are together in the traditional sense, not sure it they ever were.

And she probably knew she could safely make that statement because they are never together. If they were, you would think they would be photographed at some point. Jen and Ben don't like being photographed either but they go out together and live their married lives together. Sure we might get a bird flipped at us once in awhile but at least they are acting like a normal family doing family things. Chris and Gwynnie obviously don't want to be thought of as a couple or they wouldn't go to that extreme, so OK, point taken, I don't consider them together.
just because a couple doesn't put themselves out there for the world to see doesn't mean they aren't together or isn't a family familiar in the normal sense. whatever the hell that means. couples who are constantly in the limelight split every single day. it wouldthata relationship would be stronger if you prevented the prying eyes of the world from being all in your business or your life.

I think it was tactless in the extreme of the journalist to say something like that. Don't know if Chris should have punched him or not... I like both Chris & Gwyneth. Think they make a cute couple. I hope they go the distance. Cute kids, too. LOVE Coldplay!
Rumor has it that Gwyneth slept with a lot more people than Chris did before they married, so that would explain some of his "issues." I never thought they were a great match.

I think this was a situation where the interviewer was completely clueless. I seriously doubt he knew Brad and Gwenyth were once a serious item. That was a while ago and if the reporter was a spring chicken, it would make sense. Still no excuse for not doing your research.
I'm sure it was an off the cuff remark that came out without any thought at all. BUT at the same time, I don't really fault Chris Martin for a little rough housing. It's a touchy subject. I bet this reporter will always do their research now, LOL.
I don't like either Chris or Gwyneth. They are both miserable and nasty until they need to promote themselves - then it's all smiles and mini-dresses (you're too old Gwynnie!!@). Sometimes the paps go too far, but for the most part, if you want to be in this business a little smile won't kill you!!
