Pink Thought She Was An Alcoholic
Pink actually thought she was an alcoholic after realizing that she can't have fun without a few drinks. So this past summer she checked into a health center to try and do something about the problem.
"A few months ago, I went to see a specialist because I thought I was an alcoholic. I have a problem with my vices. I've kicked the drugs, but every now
and then I have to go out and get completely wasted on alcohol. For me
it's about losing control. I'm such a control freak it's very hard for
me to lose my inhibitions without something chemical inside me. How do
you really have fun if there isn't a little drink in you? I don't
actually know."
But, she's getting a little help and trying to figure out her control issues.
"I checked into Canyon Ranch in Tucson, Arizona, in the summer and I
went to see a therapist, telling him I was an alcoholic. He asked me
when I'd had my last drink and I couldn't remember - it had been a few
weeks previously. I then read the AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) manual
cover to cover and we talked. I realised I wasn't an alcoholic, just
someone who likes to get drunk every now and again. I'm trying to work
out if that's a bad thing."
I was actually surprised to read this story because I don't normally find a ton of pictures of Pink stumbling out of clubs at 3 in the morning. Maybe that's just because she's a more low-key celebrity.

sounds to me like she just wanted attention back then and now by bringing this up. you know who might have issues Amy whatever her last name is.
I'm not shciked she has/had a drug and drinking problem. She is quick to trash the President or celebs in Hollywood for partying yet she is the biggest loser. I can't stand her.

Actually I'm impressed that she talked about this and admitted she may have had a drinking problem. I know so many people who think they may have a problem but never want to talk about it or figure out whats going on because they don't want to deal with what it would mean if they did. And Pink was going through the seperation with Carey, i think its quite believable that she thought she had a problem and highly doubt she brought this up for attention. And the people who think she did are very insensitive. Just because someone is famous it doesn't mean every single thing they do is to gain attention.
that's not alcoholism. that's college.
Binge drinking is harder to cure than a regular everyday drinker. I can go weeks w/o drinking, but when there's a party or a reason to drink, WATCH OUT!
If you drink to get drunk....that's an alcoholic.

I'm with Jbo. As I've gotten older my binge drinking has really decreased but every now and then (such as in Las Vegas 2 weeks ago) I really can tie one on. The hangover the next day lets me know it's time to not do that anymore!

Wow, this story actually kind of makes me happy. I'm glad that one celebrity has atleast some sense of self awareness and good for her for getting it checked out even if it turns out her thoughts weren't true !
wow papyrus, what an insensitive comment. she is getting the attention nowadays whether she made the comment or not, so she definitely is NOT just saying it for the sake of publicity. she always keep a very low profile and should be applauded for having enough sense to go to a therapist to figure out her problem. with the divorce and death in her family, she was probably hving a very tough time.
She kicked the drugs? Alcohol is a drug.
