Miley Cyrus Doesn't Want To Be Judged Anymore
Can't a 15-year-old girl who happens to be a Disney star and a millionaire date a 20-year-old boy who happens to be an underwear model without it being a big deal? Miley Cyrus just wants everyone to quit judging her relationship with Justin Gaston insisting he has helped her get through so many difficult times.
After calling in to Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS FM show on Thursday morning, Cyrus played coy, telling the host they "maybe" or "maybe not" be dating.
But she says she’s tired of critics talking about their five-year age gap, adding:
"Everyone started judging us as soon as we started hanging out… After my last two years, there’s been a lot of things that happened, so I’ve learned just not to judge anyone and go into our friendship with an open mind and not really worry about the age or anything.
"More than anything, he’s really helped me move on from a lot of things. He’s a really great Christian guy. He’s gone through stuff, and I’ve gone through stuff, and everyone goes through that. I think it’s really awesome that we have that in common - that we can talk about it and that we can understand (each other)… he gets it."
And the Hannah Montana star insists the pair’s families have no opposition toward their relationship.
"Our families are like, ‘Whatever happens, happens.’ If he’s nothing but a really good friend, that’s awesome."

But since she earns her own money they treat her as an adult... this girl will start going down as she gets older, she has no one to stop her or parent her... but then she will go to rehab and blame the media and everyone for being there and the parents will come out with a book and we all know where this is going

I love how people now use the term "hanging out." When I was kid, it meant friends spending time together, not doing much. Now, it means dating and sleeping together. It's almost like, by calling it "hanging out," it doesn't sound serious or threatening. Call it whatever you want, Miley, but your underwear model bf is breaking the law by sleeping with you. And if he is NOT sleeping with you, then he's probably gay, because most 20-year-old guys will sleep with any semi-attractive girl.

I think we should get used to the fact that nowadays girls are more "grown up" at the age of 15 than 20 years ago. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying that there are thousands of girls out there who are ready to have a sexual relationship before the government imposed age of 16 (in the UK).
There's nothing to get used to. Girls aren't any more grown than they've ever been. It used to be common for teenagers to get married and older men used to marry younger women that they could control. Things definitely haven't changed that much since the 80s.
The girls might look grown with more revealing clothes but what's going on inside is probably about the same as ever. When I was in school there were a handful of kids that were active in middle school. They were usually the ones that had kids early and dropped out of school.
Miley is young and naive, weren't we all, which is why minors are protected by the law. She is going to have to learn from her mistakes. She will not listen to someone telling her to not do something that she wants to do. That's how kids operate and even some adults.
This guy could be one of those types that want to lock her down into a long term relationship as a child and encourage her to act as an adult now. Later on, she'll be trying to recapture her childhood as an adult and she'll look immature. Same old story. Different actors.

I don't really care that much about Miley. But i read a lot of comments about her and how she should be a role model and all that shit. First just because you date someone who is older than you doesn't mean that you'll end up a bad person in any way shape or form. And the whole thing about her parents, they're not all wrong for giving her her space to do what shes doing. I started dating someone around 14 who was 19. I don't have any problems and I'm not going down hill. I'm not an alcoholic or a drug-ed up kid. I've never even been pregnant. I am now 19 years old and me and this person are still together and he just turned 24. Maybe not all kids are able to be with older people b/c of parents or whatever but when my dad was told that we might of been together in a sexual relationship, he told the cop that there was not much he could do because he knew if he sent him away, I wouldn't want anything to do with him(my father). Basically I'm saying that not all kids turn into horrible fucking people esp. just because of an older man in their life friends or not. And that not all parents are horrible because of letting their daughter or son be involved with an older person. People bash celebrities all the time and it's kinda dumb, I mean they want space to fuck up without being fucking bashed about it for years. Joel Mchale brought up a good point on The Soup a couple of weeks ago.The FBI investigates the 18 year old guy who hacked into Miley's cell phone and posted those pics but yet the 20 year old guy dating her isnt being investigated at all.

From the Annie Liebowitz photos to dating an adult, it's really clear that this girl isn't being properly parented. The pressures on young celebrities are enormous which is all the more reason why they need structure, rules and normalcy.
Thousands of girls are going to use this Miley's romantic relationships to rationalize becoming involved with college aged men - and the rationalization will work the other way, too. Parents of young girls, beware.
