Ashley Olsen Is Terrified Of The Paparazzi

"Honestly, I’m a wreck, Every time I see a camera, I’m a wreck. I don’t tend to react as though ‘I have to do this, it’s my job.’ I am reacting as a woman who is five-foot-one whose space is being invaded by a bunch of men whose aggression I can literally feel."
"In L.A. it is even worse because they are running red lights behind you, and I worry all the time about something terrible happening, someone getting hurt because of me, how I could ever possibly live with that. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have kids in the back seat and have to go through this and pretend for their sake that you are not scared."

Makes total sense to me.... I actually feel for her, being so small I could imagine it must be terrifying.

I really wonder where this will end. I mean it HAS to end at some point because its crazy !
How sad...She's right though. I try not to read postings or at least I don't click on the "read more" if the picture has kids with the celebrity. I think there should be a law that protects these kids from the Paparazzi. Seriously...sometime they're screaming at them to get them to turn around so that they can get a shot. I saw it once...it made me feel so bad for them that I swore off reading any post that had the kids in the picture.

What I don't get is the aggressiveness of the paps, the lengths they go to get their shots, blocking e.g. sidewalks for other people who just happen to be there. Why do they need to touch their prey, holding onto their clothes, opening car doors to get shots etc. etc. And then to have to listen to the way they yell obscenities at people who earn them their money, just to get a reaction. I wonder how the paps would feel if people started following them around, bad-mouthing them, blinding their kids with flashes, insulting their partners and relatives.
I agree to an extent. However, don't go where you know the paps hang out!!! How many stars out there are rarely photographed because they just tend to do boring things, like grocery shopping and renting movies. Not really photo-worthy. Yes, where children are involved, I think there should be a definite law regarding how close the photogs can get, etc. But so many stars really bring it on themselves. Do they really HAVE to go shopping on Robertson Blvd. and eat at the most popular restaurants??
Paparazzis are just gone worse. And when the law breaks in? It's insane behaviour.
Agree with Nanea.

"They"? It's "she" in this case.

Save the Pandas!
as crazy as all of hollywood may be, this is sad but true at the same time.
Most celebs want to be recognized for their talents and be known, but not always followed around doing simple things... or getting out of cars, or shopping.. now some of them on the other hand act like they dont like it but secretly love it. - ex. heidi montag.. she was unknown, if cameras stopped following her for a year, we would all forget about her, and she knows that. The olsens and britney, dont need cameras, well all know who they are 10 years from now.

she verbalized that really well. with most celebs you just want to scream "wah wah whatever" but she really sells it. Those paps shoud feel bad!

Nothing will change until something truly tragic happens. :(
Something tragic did happen...Diana was killed while being chased by paps.

Folks, when magazines and gossip blogs (much like this one) stop buying the pictures, the paparazzi won't be a problem anymore. Unfortunately, there'd be no supply without the demand.
So move out of L.A. or get another job, stupid troll! Oh, wahhh, the poor little spoiled gazillionaire. She doesn't care about the well-being of someone else in another car, she only cares about how it would affect her image!
Took the words right out of my mouth Paige. I can't stand these two.
For once I agree with something the Olsens are saying. Ashley is 100% correct. It isn't her fault she is followed, and in LA you are risking your life sometimes because paparazzi run lights to follow certain ppl. Also, the Olsens tend to *avoid* the hotspots. They sometimes camp outside of their office, and apt. Sad life, and she verbalized it well---what if someones children are in the back seat?
Hopefully nothing like this ever happens.
Cry me a river.

She is 100% right. So yeah, they are "gazillionaires", but they should be entitled to their privacy - although I'm guilty here, because I LOVE to see candids of their outfits. But once I saw a video at X21 (? is that it?) and there were paps around MK's jeep yelling at her "s l u t" and "w h o r e" and "look at the little b i t c h, she's hiding her face". I understood what they were saying because they were brazilian & I'm portuguese, but she probably had no idea. I was 100% shocked.
I agree about the kid thing. They need laws to protect them. But the
adults are in the business, they know the "rules", and they are getting
the big bucks because the are our "royalty". If they weren't "important"
enough to photograph, then they would have a problem. "If you can't
stand the heat, get out of the kitchen". These whiney stars making more
money than a whole city of people need to learn to deal with it. It's
part of the price tag of fame. I do also believe that there should be
laws about Paps conduct. No cussing. Only so close to the subject.
They've got zoom lens, or need to get one and use it. And the stars
need to pay attention to other stars. They play to the Paps, give
them enough of what they want, and move on. The Paps need to
take their pics on the spot, and then leave the stars alone. NO
following, chasing, stalking. There's a middle road here, we just
need to get there.

there needs to be extreme restrictions for paparazzi. i honestly don't see how it's legal to stalk someone and sell their picture without their consent.
What a joke. The Olsens are always surrounded by huge bodyguards. If she hates it so much get out of the business. Sorry, can't seem to find any sympathy.
