Religion Helped Gerard Butler Quit Smoking

Well, for a few hours at least...
Gerard Butler recently wanted to kick the habit of smoking cigarettes. He practically had a divine intervention with light encapsulating him and everything! It was amazing... for a solid 4 hours.
"I'm thinking, 'If this guy (Jesus) can die for mankind, the least I can do is quit smoking. I really felt an epiphany was happening. I even thought I saw a light around me. Four hours later, I bought a packet of Marlboro Reds. Who am I kidding? I need a cigarette."
Sexy and sense of humor? I'll take him!

I agree with gia. I don't see anything remotely attractive about him.

I love him, he's the best.
...The darkest knight on a black horse' s back in the mist of SMOKE on a moonless night...
what i don't understand is why people who hate him or think hes ugly even searches him. It hes not that big of a deal to you keep your comments to yourself. I for one think he is gorgeous. And anyone who thinks otherwise is just jealous because they can't be that sexy, and they can't have him themselves. I love you Gerry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I totally think he could have quit smoking, and what he said was very moving. "If Jesus could die for mankind the least I can do is quit smoking." If he would have just kept with it, you can't start something then quit just like that. I don't think Jesus quit, even when the pain was too much to bear. He died for everyone and I'm sure if Gerry or anyone else for that matter, would just ask God for help he will help them. The Bible says that if you just tell God that you are sorry for every sin you ever did, then he will forgive you, but you also got to believe that Jesus came and died for your sins. When I was twelve years old I felt like the whole world was against me but then I heard a preacher say that God loves me and can take all the pain away so I wanted to hear more. So he told me to pray this prayer, but he also said that it was just a bunch of words unless I meant in from my heart. So I prayed, " Dear God, I'm sorry for all the wrong things I did, I'm asking you to forgive me. I know you sent your Son to die on the cross for my sins, and I want him to come and make me a new person. I need help God, so please in your Holy name amen."
After I prayed that prayer I was a new person, it felt like a huge burden had been lifted off of me. And I know it would feel the same for anyone else who feels strangled by the things of this world.
Now listen I know what you are thinking, this chic is totally crazy, a religious fanatic. I don't have a religion I have a relationship with the God who loves me. I have fun because the Bible says that God wants us to have fun, just not in the wrong way. We can wear pants and dress normal we don't have to be covered from head to toe, just be modest. I love my God and I love Gerard Butler, but I would rather see him in heaven then to see him quit smoking. If anybody wants to hear more about what I just talked about find a Bible believing Baptist church. or a King James Bible.
Quitting smoking is a very difficult thing to do for the person quitting and those around them. The addiction captures you mentally and physically. I am struggling with this myself and hope those around me make it..lol. It could only be that much more difficult if you are in the spotlight with it. It's nice that he has a sense of humor about it.
And he is one of the most versatile, honest, and caring actors I have had the pleasure to watch. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and mine is that he is one of the best actors I have ever seen. Good luck to you Gerry, kicking smoking is a lifetime commitment.
