Simon Cowell Didn't Want To Marry Terri Seymour
Well, Simon Cowell isn't like Howard Stern. When this man says he isn't getting married, he means it. The reason why Simon Cowell and Terri Seymour split is because the American Idol judge didn't want to get married. I am sure it has nothing to do with his love for Terri, he just admits that he already has a wife, and that is his job.
"She wants a different path in life, and I totally respect her for it. I think in relationships, you have to be totally honest. I have always been and I know Terri knows that.
"Bottom line is I am married to my job. When people moan about been a celebrity, I think ‘Oh please, sort yourself out - it’s the greatest job in the world.’ I wake up daily thanking my lucky stars, but to throw marriage into that mix is not right. I have seen too many celebrity marriages that on paper make a great mix, fall apart through ego and just plain celebrity madness."
Good for her for getting up and leaving. So many times people stay in a relationship with the hope that perhaps they misunderstood the message. And Simon's message is loud and clear. Now Terri can move on and find someone who has the same ideology.
UPDATE: Rumor has it that Simon gave Terri $9 million as a "parting gift"!!!$5 million in cash and $4 to buy a home in Beverly Hills.

a case of "he's just not that into you." better off that she realize it now. while their behavior can be odd, men will let you know their intentions. if they are not interested, move on...hanging around often just hurts the woman. very pointless.

I wonder who the next girlfriend will be. Can you imagine the lifestyle this man has? Im sure they will be lining up hoping to snag Terri's spot. This makes me wonder if hes been "fixed". You can bet there are a lot of women out there who would love to get knocked up by him just so they could make some money off it so he really has to be careful.
he told her from the very beginning that he wasn't into getting married or having kids. she thought she could change him. simon is very generous so i'm not surprised he gave her the money. she deserves that for putting up with him all these years. i hope she finds someone with more compatible goals.

sure, because we all know millions can mend a broken heart...what the hell? very odd in general...i must say though simon does seem quite generous with his girlfriends finacially...maybe he does think it may make up for his inability to fully commit. i actually dont hate simon...he is what he is.
The money is kind of like a divorce settlement. They were together for the length of a good Hollywood marriage, so why not. I understand it.

I wouldn't marry Simon Cowell for his looks either, but I like him and he has a nice sense of humour and a very honest personality. I think it's very generous of him to give her all that money. But then, money doesn't necessarily make you happy!

I like Simon, and I think if he gave her money it was a very nice and appropriate thing to do. Long term relationships without legal marriage are sticky situations and he did the right thing.
Simon's gay. Him and Seacrest have been together for years, it's an open secret in the business. Simon probably couldn't care less if he was outed now, he's poweful enough to cope but him and Ryan could not openly be together while on Idol.
That's so idiotic and is as saying (more true) that Simon and Paula Abdul are hooked up but cannot announce it because they are working on American Idol together. Stop being a moron. It's more obvious that he's straight as opposed to gay (like everyone and their uncle in that business who is 'suspected' of being gay because they are rich and powerful but single). The reason Simon will not marry anybody is because he cannot part from his money if a seperation occurs. He worked hard for it and loves it more. In fact, love, for him, does not exist. I suggest you "London" chick not believe everything you are told by freaks. Not to mention that Simon did NOT give Terri any money. In fact, he was honets from the beginning, he said he would never marry her or have kids, se lingered along mooching off of him and "hoping" to change his mind. She knew him for years. Anyway, 34 is not young but it's too young for 49.
