Madonna Is The New Face For Louis Vuitton

Madonna has officially joined the ranks of Jennifer Lopez, Scarlett Johansson and Uma Thurman. The singer just signed on to be the new face of Louis Vuitton for their Spring 2009 campaign. Celebrity fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott have reportedly teamed up to shoot the star for the project.
What do you think? Does having Madonna in the LV campaign hurt or help the brand? Do you want to emulate what Madonna does?

definitely not.... i think madonna is way past her fashion prime...she has her fan base, but as far as being a new face they are totally off the mark.

well, all my LV's are going in storage until this campaign is over. using madonna is their ads will make me NOT buy any LV anything.

companies choose specific celebrities to represent their merchandise because they're trying to appeal to a specific audience. it says a lot about who they support and for a lot of people, madonna is overrated and a bit of a grandma so i really wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people stop wearing their LV stuff because they don't like madonna.
I would not personally want to be classified anywhere near Madonna and her "fashion sense". She looks and dresses horrendously. She is a scary, nasty, gross-looking "woman".
I mean yeah why not buy things Madonna promotes, cause I think we should get Sean Connery for Calvin Klein underwear ads (what sterling logic), honestly Madonna was good looking when I was 5...I am 27 now, she stopped being attractive a long time ago, let her stop wearing her make up and put her in any ad promoting anything, the only thing that would pick up in sales would be botox. Her fan base is gay men anyway, do you think she could sell womens clothing?? No I don't want to emulate Madonna. I don't really care for her. It's funny because she was in Denver last night and my HOA had some Madonna tickets free for anyone who wanted to go the concert. Yesterday afternoon they still hadn't given any away. Seems no one from my subdivision wanted to go.

I agree she does look a bit younger with the bangs. But no, I don't ever want to emulate her. She seems really miserable to me, despite all the money and fame. I'd rather be "poor" (relatively speaking) and happy.

I think using Madonna in their ads will only make LV look older. And less fashionable.
Live and direct from the man that owns the gas station down the road and many others just like it. Last time I met a Turkish man he was asking me where he could learn how to fly a plane, this was about 2 weeks before 9/11/01. Unless he is going to keep something over her face these ads will fail. I love Madonna and her music, she has her own sense of fashion and that's cool, not necessarily like it but I respect it, I don't mind seeing her as the new face of LV, by the way, I went to her concert in L.A. and it was great as usual plus a got to see Britney and Justin =)

Good grief, what is she wearing? I didn't even recognise her in this picture. I've never liked LV that much, I always found it a bit of a brand for the nouveau riche...

I'm not a huge Madonna fan; however I do respect her talent! She stays ahead of the curve on trends and I think LV made a wise choice. People will take notice simply because Madonna is a fashion icon no matter you LVoe her or hate her!
