Madonna Is The New Face For Louis Vuitton

Madonna Is The New Face For Louis Vuitton

Madonna has officially joined the ranks of Jennifer Lopez, Scarlett Johansson and Uma Thurman. The singer just signed on to be the new face of Louis Vuitton for their Spring 2009 campaign. Celebrity fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott have reportedly teamed up to shoot the star for the project.

What do you think? Does having Madonna in the LV campaign hurt or help the brand? Do you want to emulate what Madonna does?

definitely not.... i think madonna is way past her fashion prime...she has her fan base, but as far as being a new face they are totally off the mark.

LOL---this must be the same idiot that put SJParker as the face for The Gap! What idiot would want skeletor arms/hands for a visual representation...did she pay THEM?

well, all my LV's are going in storage until this campaign is over. using madonna is their ads will make me NOT buy any LV anything.

WTF is Vadge wearing? It's beyond hideous. Her face is terrifying.

"All my LV's are going in storage......." Good call! So I guess you wear them for what reason exactly?? Why the heck would it matter who their spokesperson was? If you like the clothes, wouldn't you just, say, wear the clothes?? What weird "logic". "I cannot wear my favorite clothes because I don't like Madonna wearing my favorite clothes!" *pouts*

companies choose specific celebrities to represent their merchandise because they're trying to appeal to a specific audience. it says a lot about who they support and for a lot of people, madonna is overrated and a bit of a grandma so i really wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people stop wearing their LV stuff because they don't like madonna.

I would not personally want to be classified anywhere near Madonna and her "fashion sense". She looks and dresses horrendously. She is a scary, nasty, gross-looking "woman".

I mean yeah why not buy things Madonna promotes, cause I think we should get Sean Connery for Calvin Klein underwear ads (what sterling logic), honestly Madonna was good looking when I was 5...I am 27 now, she stopped being attractive a long time ago, let her stop wearing her make up and put her in any ad promoting anything, the only thing that would pick up in sales would be botox. Her fan base is gay men anyway, do you think she could sell womens clothing?? Why not ky lube and trojan condoms, Perfect ad set up...Madonna walks out and says in her "new jersey" accent "Oi me and the royal mum don't use ky or trojan condoms, so maybe you bloody should. Brilliant, spot on! can I clean your chimney sir?" and A-rod mixed up with Madonna, time for this new yorker to pick a new baseball team ;-) dislike a man cause he doesn't live up to his abilities and goes for gilfs? SURE, god knows wars have started over lesser offenses than Madonna still being able to flaunt herself and her money. She needs to leave EC comics alone, she'll never be the true Crypt Keeper!

I can't afford LV anyway, so doesn't matter to me. I would never buy/not buy anything because of a celebrity.

No I don't want to emulate Madonna. I don't really care for her. It's funny because she was in Denver last night and my HOA had some Madonna tickets free for anyone who wanted to go the concert. Yesterday afternoon they still hadn't given any away. Seems no one from my subdivision wanted to go.

I agree she does look a bit younger with the bangs. But no, I don't ever want to emulate her. She seems really miserable to me, despite all the money and fame. I'd rather be "poor" (relatively speaking) and happy.

I feel bad for saying this but Madonna's face has gotten way scary. She's gone the way of other celebs who have had too much work done trying to stay young looking.

I've been over Madonna for a looooooooong time! I don't think she's relevant or influential anymore. I think LV has chosen poorly.

Well there goes LV. Who wants to buy something that a dried up old prune is trying to advertise for. She's God awful ugly.
Anonymous (not verified)Anonymous (not verified) said:
Just BECAUSE she'll be the new face, I won't buy anything Louis Vuitton. She's so disgusting, gross! Emulate her??? You gotta be kidding.

Mert Alas is a Turkish fashion photographer... I love him! I think using Madonna in their ads will only make LV look older. And less fashionable.

Live and direct from the man that owns the gas station down the road and many others just like it. Last time I met a Turkish man he was asking me where he could learn how to fly a plane, this was about 2 weeks before 9/11/01. Unless he is going to keep something over her face these ads will fail. Burka all the for this one, double bag it!

I am wondering who their target market is? And product they are going to use her for in an advertising campaign. Maybe LV is expanding into gym wear?

I love Madonna and her music, she has her own sense of fashion and that's cool, not necessarily like it but I respect it, I don't mind seeing her as the new face of LV, by the way, I went to her concert in L.A. and it was great as usual plus a got to see Britney and Justin =)

Madonna RULES! Whoever is responsible for this move at LV definitely knows A LOT more than anyone (who can't possibly be living on this planet) who thinks that Madonna is the wrong choice!

Cause I don't think commenting on people being smart over picking old people for anything is a good way to go. Like Honestly, cause if you like that boy have I got a good idea of what to do with Paul Newman's corpse, a new paris hilton sex tape, seems like it could work!

lol Way* me forgetting words in a sentence and needing to correct it is far more pressing news than this! and honestly LV is the choice of coke head teeny boppers and gang bangers, You don't have to buy someones clothing just cause you support gay rights, or back a woman like Madonna just cause you signed up for an AARP card.
