What Did Ryan Reynolds Eat After Marathon Run?

Warning! This is gross.

BUT completely understandable considering after a such an extended run, a participant can expect to lose thousands and thousands of calories! Ryan Reynolds was S-T-A-R-V-I-N-G after her completed the NYC Marathon and chowed down with friends once it was all over.

"You’re just craving anything. I think I sat down to a 10,000-calorie dinner. Onlookers were just in slack-jawed horror, watching me put back two chocolate sundaes, three tuna wrap type things… I had some spaghetti and meatballs.

I flossed later, and a small child fell out. It was pretty gross."

Altho I have never run a marathon, I do hike the mountains for long distances. Since I don't pack a whole lot to eat, just fruit, crackers and energy bars I am starving when I get off the trail. We do some 15-20 mile hikes and I think I burn off at least 2500-3000 or so calories.

After each of my 4 marathons, I've pigged out to a level that makes Ryan here look like Posh Spice. Piles and piles of food. In a marathon, most people will burn 3500-4500 calories. Add to that the regular daily 2000, plus the holdover metabolic increase and 10K doesn't seem like a whole lot.

Well done on the time, tho Ryan. Sub 4 hrs for a first marathon is pretty respectable.

What makes that quote gross? Bit of an over-reaction don't you think?!

Anonymous Anonymous said:

huge overreaction. there wasn't anything alarming there at all except tuna stinks. big whoop. this did NOT require a warning.

after my half marathon (which i ran at an 8min pace) i only ate a bagel. i can't imagine much more than 2 bagels after a full marathon.
