American Idol fans - hold onto your seats! Rumor has it that Paula Abdul is leaving the cash cow to develop her own TV project! Now that Kara DioGaurdi signed on, Paula is planning on slowly transitioning out to focus entirely on her new venture.
"She knows that every season could be her last.
Now she’s got a new secret venture that she’s really excited about."
I wonder what kind of project she would be interested in doing. I mean, she makes a TON of money with American Idol and is more famous than she's ever been in her entire career. What could possibly take her away from all of that?

Pure false rumor. Unless Paula is fired she is not leaving the show. She hasn't been successful with music and her reality show while on Idol so I don't see her being successful without it. Look at the first season co-host. He left after one season and hasn't been heard from since.
i know i dont watch it often...but i like her as a judge, she kinda balances things and if anything, i think she helps people feel better after all the criticism from you know who.

i do think this rumor is false. if it wasn't for idol nobody would even know paula abdul still existed. i also hope it's not true because i mostly tune in for simon's 'tell it like it is attitude' and paula's crazy antics.

i believe this came out last week, and I think that her rep already denied it. personally i think she'd be dumb to leave, but I doubt it would have any ill effects to the show.
She was forced out but they're letting her make it seem like she wanted to leave. I live in LA and I'm in the industry. Believe me, it's true.
ya, without having any inside info on this common sense was telling me the same thing. if she is leaving, its obvious she was "let go" and they are just letting her have some dignity on her way out.

i agree, american idol won't be the same. now, when the camera pans from randy to the center judge i won't have to wonder what unintelligible nonsense is going to come out of her mouth. i won't have to look down at the floor in embarrassment at what she's going to manage to slur out despite the 57 prescription meds she took before the filming.
i mean i wish her all the best...but....being a judge on american idol is just not for her. let's hope the new girl is good.
