Kristen Johnston is the latest celebrity to go nude to prove a point for Peta. The actress is featured in this new campaign against the use of horses in Central Park for tourists.
"I was blown away by how these horses live, or actually I should say, don’t live. The horses go from this horrible job, where they’re pulling people through the streets of Manhattan all day, to this tiny jail cell in this building that’s like a cramped parking garage.
"I’d say to tourists considering coming to New York, there’s so much amazing stuff to do here. But please do something else. Go ice-skating, see a show, go shopping. I hope within the next year that there are no more horse-drawn carriages."
The new campaign comes as New York City council member Dan Garodnick aims to phase out horse-drawn carriages in a new bill.
He proposes that eco-friendly "horseless carriages" – replicas of the classic Ford Model T – will replace the outdated horse-drawn carriages. I think that’s a great idea!!

Oh wow, I didn’t know that she had an ulcer. I remember her being a little chunky on her show “Third Rock From The Sun”.
Didn’t people stop caring about her about 10 years ago, don’t get me wrong I loved 3rd rock, but this is just out of the blue.

Horses are always put in stables. Has she never been on a farm? Im not agreeing with them being used in this manner but anything PETA says makes me think its BS. Im sure they would disagree with horses being used for any sort of manual labour.
I’m sure she thinks she’s doing a good thing, but Peta does so much more harm than good. They kill over 90% of the animals that people bring to them thinking Peta is going to find them a new home. Their ultimate goal is for no humans to own pets. All you loving dog, cat, hamster, rabbit etc. owners would be forced to set them all free into the wild. I could go on and on about the insane practices of Peta but my fingers would fall off. Go to petasucks and read about it yourselves.
I’ve heard other people speak up for this cause before and I hope the new bill passes. As for the new idea to use replica Ford Model T’s, fun! My family had one when I was a kid and they’re really cool historical little cars.

For the people who know nothing about our horses, how they live or how many regulations we have:
We have NEVER been cited for cruelty in over 150 yrs. We have 5 stables, 2 of which are state of the art. All of our horses in nyc have box stalls. (which the mounted police horses dont even have)They get ferrier care, worming, and dental and vet care on a schedualed basis…which is all recorded for the city. We are overseen by 5 agencies (we have more regulations and oversight than at-risk children). We have temp restrictions, and hr work restrctions which are overseen by the aspca. We send our horses to vacations on farms 3-4 months out of each yr. When our horses are retired they are adopted out through one of 3 adoption programs we use. We are licensed 4 times over (carriage, driver, horse,and stable) We are fully insured. Our horses were trained specifically for this job…
PETA is really good at lying to people. their intentions are evil. They want to do away with all human to animal relationships. ALL of them including pets. Its disgusting. Whats even more disgusting is that people like Kristen Johnston (who dont know anything about horses in the first place) are halping them!

Yeah!! I sooooo hope this bill passes! I live in the city and it makes me so sad every time I see a horse pulling people. I know how they live after and the conditions are horrible.
Maybe she should eat a burger…she looks like a bony, tranny mess to me.
what illness did she have? she was looking quite bony & scrawny before….she looks better here, but she is mostly covered up…for some reason her face here reminds me of fergie a little & thats never a good thing.
Poor horsies. The idea is a good one. Kristen supposedly had an ulcer that made her lose a bunch of weight (and I think she had surgery for it as well).
oh yeah, i just read she had a bleeding ulcer & was in hospital for a month & a half…yikes! not the way you would want to lose weight.
