Jay-Z and Beyonce have just topped a list of Hollywood's richest couples. Obviously they're so high ranking because both of these two business savvy. From 2007-2008 Jay-Z brought in $82 million from his deal with Live Nation, while Beyonce has raked in $80 million through everything she does in fashion, music, etc. The rest of the richest couples are:

Personally I'm surprised not to see Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes on there. He always earns an insane amount for his movies and she's got to be getting paid big bucks for all the campaigns she's in! And who would have guessed that Harrison and Calista are still racking it in! Are you surprised to see any of these names on the list? And who did you think was really rich that didn't actually make the top ten?

Wow, they're almost twice as rich as the #2 slot. I'm actually surprised that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt only have $34 million. Maybe because they give so much to charity? Tom Cruise I'm also surprised is missing.
Yeah...maybe Beyonce should jump on the F-ing bandwagon like Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie and donate more money to charity (instead of buying $70,000 tables!!!). Also, the size of her wedding ring is just as obnoxious as her greedy-ness.

It's not about who deserves it or not.....Beyonce worked very hard since she was 8 years old to become a famous singer....who am I to say she didn't pay her dues. My problem is how she's earned her money.....yeah she has a good voice, but it's the sex that sells....many great singers have come and gone without her stature, because they refuse to wear dress scantily or sexy for their careers. That's messed up!

My guess is the numbers are based on total earnings...not including expenses or charitable donations...
Jay-Z and Beyonce work really hard...they own record labels, clothing lines, as well as she has two movies coming out soon, and most artist make their money touring, and she has a huge fan base world wide. I also assume they both have production credits, which allows them more royalties as an artist.
Just goes to show that the real money in hollywood is made behind the scenes. The owners of the labels, studios, fashion lines...they are the ones that are really bringing in the dough.

Why is this wrong? You have two people who work hard for their money. Where is it written that it is MANDATORY for celebs to donate their cash? Most people donate out of the kindness of their heart. A lot of celebs donate anoymously. If they wanted to take all their money and round around in it, it's their right and their choice. They are not obligated to give it away...that would be a nice jesture but it's not mandatory.
I agree....but what can we do about it? We can't put a cap on what entertainers make, that wouldn't be American. America was built on the premis of capitalism....how can we say now, stop making money and help the poor and less fortunate? I wish there was a way.

Therefore, the Top 10 List is showing each couples' combined income for 2007-2008 only.

i´m prett sure this list is absolute bogus. beyonce and jay-z? of course, but when tom cruise and nicole kidman were divorced she got more than 100 million dollars, which was half of the mone he earned during their marriage, so there is no way, she (and keith together!) are down to 25 million. same with tom, he has - at least - to be on 2nd spot if he had more than 100 million dollars by the time he and nicole were divorced. and by now he should´ve much more than that, given the fact that - as you say in our article - he always gets an insane amount of money!

MTV did a whole documentary on Jay Z and how he single handedly went on a crusade to get clean water in African villages where they had no clean water and had to walk over 3 miles each way to get water... Millions of his own money he invested in having well build in these areas of Africa... What you might not know also is that every year during TUrkey Day and X-Mas... Jay Z personally has a truck load of turkeys given out to his former neighborhood in MArcy Project as well as on X-mas he has a truck load of toys given out to the community... Also did you know during 911 he was on eof the first people to donate a million for the families as well as he did for the Katrina victims... Beyonce also does a lot for under priveliged girls monetarily and with clothing donations... The both truly work hard and desrve the money they get and are very charitable with it... This is also public knowledge if you search forbes.com... I respect everyones opinion but what i have stated is fact... Please don't take my word for it, research it.... Oh also did I forget to mention the concerts Jay also did for the victims of columbine and norfolk va shootings where he donated the monies of those concerts to victims or the free concerts he did to help get people registered to vote this year... Most might not make 162 million, but if I made $95,000 a year, $80,000 or even $65,000, would I be wrong for earning a salary? What is wrong with you? Should he have opted instead for rice and water because other people are starving.
Not to be insensitive to the needs of the less fortunate, but it's also insensitive to put a guilt trip on people who earn what they're worth. How much do you make? Is it wrong that you earn a salary and probably live in a decent home and eat decent meals? Give it up then.
