I went with a couple of friends and my daughter for a 645pm show. We got there at 6pm, was about 75 people back in line with another 100 behind us and a lobby full of more people. People were even in line for the 815pm show! The theater was PACKED! The movie is AWESOME! Not as good as the book - but what movie is?? I was very pleased with the movie - wish they had kept a few parts in that they didn't, but overall, again...the movie was TERRIFIC!!
I want to have his babies ;D

I saw the Movie Friday night, and I think it was rushed, it was not as good as the books, but I loved it. Also, Rob Pattison was so hot, I had dreams about the boy....(panting). Will be seeing it again. :)

Okay, I don't understand the obsession with this guy. But, I must admit, that's perhaps the hottest picture I've ever seen of him. Wow.

I didn't either until I saw the movie last night. Now I TOTALLY get it!!!
I totally agree...it was too rushed, not enough time to do justice to the book, but AMAZING anyways! So cool to see the characters come to life on screen. I'm going to see it again! I also just read "Midnight Sun" - it's Twilight from Edwards point of view, on Stephenie Meyer's website. LOVED IT!

I went twice (so far). :D I went to an afternoon showing yesterday and the theater was sold out again! (went to the midnight show Thursday night, too) I plan to see it a few more times yet. LOL

i was so dissapointed with the movie! it had such bad acting..it was nothing like the boook! they rushed everything i was so dissapointed..it seemed like they were more focused on how hot edward was, and didnt go into detail about the characters as the book did. I understand not having enought time in a movie to go into detail but they were missing so much..The premis was lost...i want to email stephanie and ask her what she thought of them movie considering it was nothing like the book!!! i was extremely dissapointed.
i thought the movie was TERRIBLE. the acting was horrid, they completely butchered the story, the story they created didn't make any sense, they didn't capture the intense love between Bella and Edward at all - you don't see anything about them falling apart. I could go on and on. All I can say is that I kept laughing throughout the entire movie because of how horrible it was.

I haven't read the books and my friends step daughter begged us to take her (for her second time) so we went. I thought it was great, but a lot of things didn't make sense to me. I think I'll read the books because it seemed like a great story.
I LOVED the movie, but I went in with the mind set that it could not possibly be as good as the book. They could not put everything from the book n the movie or it would have been way too long. I went in with no expectation, knowing the books are always better than movies, and was VERY pleased with what I saw.

I made the mistake of seeing the movie early enough for the theater to be packed with screaming teenage girls. At first the sqealing everytime Rob or Taylor appeared wasn't too bad but after a while it was very distracting. I'm going to see it again when the excitement dies down (and during the week day when the girls will be home or in school!). I did like the movie but I wasn't impressed with kristen's acting. Rob is beyond gorgeous.
OMG I cant wait to watch this!! He is SO SEXY.

i enjoyed the movie to a certain degree, but my husband found bella to be completely unlikeable & he didnt understand why edward was so into her & he also didnt feel the huge connection or chemistry between them...he has never read the books & the movie didnt do much as far as making the connection as magical as in the book.
robert is however the sexiest thing ever in the movie & just staring at him for 2 hours made my night.

Mmm. My boyfriend amazingly said he would go with me on Tuesday to see Twilight. I was shocked! Kinda can't wait...
Am I the only one who LOL'd at the title "Twilight Makes Over $70 First Weekend"?
I just thought it was cute, especially since some people I know seriously thought this movie wouldn't make any money..
My sister went with me to the midnight showing on Thursday, and we both loved it. She was really sad that she didn't have any dreams about Edward though. :D

I saw it 3 times over the weekend (with different friends) and agree with those that thought it was rushed. The editing was also very disjointed. I understand cutting out parts of a 500-page novel when condensing it into a 2-hour film, but at least make sure the leftover bits fit together! And don't get me started on the meadow scene. It was just not good enough. Not by a mile. That's where they really declare themselves! And here Edward was angry and restless and... it just wasn't a romantic scene like it is in the book. They don't develop the characters or show them falling in love. We just have to accept that they did. It's just wrong.
I think from the baseball scene (fantastic!) the rest of the movie was much better.
I loved all of the casting, way more than I thought I would. Charlie was awesome, probably the best, with Victoria right on his heels (so fierce!), Billy was way cuter than I pictured him (LOL!), the Cullens were spot-on (though Ashley, playing my favorite character Alice, seems a little tense at times, and Jasper looked a kinda constipated), and the human kids were all great, though some of them were a little "off" from their personalities in the book. Only complaint in the acting department is that Kristen -- usually great in everything -- was kind of flat apart from the emotionally-charged scenes (hospital in Forks, ballet studio, hospital in Phoenix), and in those she was awesome. Edward came across too angsty at times, even for Edward. And some of his bits were unintentionally funny, but I blame that on the writing and direction more than I blame Rob, since I'm convinced of him as Edward.
I really don't like that they left out Carlisle's backstory, but I guess that they will work in the Volturi somehow for New Moon. They didn't mention Jasper's gift, either, which I thought was odd since Bella & Edward did discuss Alice. I also feel like they should've showed Bella & Alice bonding in Phoenix and afterward, to set up how thrilled she is to see Alice in New Moon.
I guess I my opinions are kind of strong about Twilight. Um... I'm Not Obsessed! :) Obviously, I enjoyed myself enough to go 3 times, and I will probably do the same with New Moon. I just hope that they have gotten their feet wet, so to speak, and will only improve upon this one to make the next adaptation even better.
The movie sucked. 'nuff said.

I loved the movie!! I agree with some others about things that could of been more spot on with the books. I personally would have sat thru a 3 hour movie or more lol! If that's what it took to capture the book.
I think they should have had Bella & Alice Bond more as well in Phoenix but again, trying to fit it all into a 2 hour movie it couldn't be done.
I thought Rob was perfect as Edward and Kristen perfect as Bella. They were what I pictured when reading the books.
I will also be seeing it again, It was wonderful!
My best friend and I went with my 15 year old daughter. She got both of us to read the book. We got in line at 5:00 for a 7:20 show - there were several lines going and all had well over 100 people in them! It was hilarious watching these girls so excited and the screams in the theater...too funny!
We had read a few of the reviews and went in prepared for it to kind of suck! I mean how many 500+ page books are translated well on the big screen? Also, I was thinking about the fact that this was a small, independent studio film - made on a very low budget.
Having said that...I was pleasantly surprised! I really, really liked the movie. My daughter LOVED the movie and is asking when we can go again. I wasn't sure about the Bella casting but she's mostly won me over. The rest of the casting - wonderful! I thought Rob was pretty fantastic before seeing the movie...but now...ohmygod! My friend and I commented how these poor teen girls didn't know what to do with themselves after watchign that movie...so much intensity, sexual tension, angst! :-)
I laughed when I read the comment above about someone dreaming about him after the movie! I woke up on Saturday morning after tossing and turning all night w/ vampire/Rob dreams! Yikes!!!
Started New Moon on Friday night after the movie and I'm 1/2 way done. I'm glad I have these books and movies to share with my daughter - but dang I wish they'd been around when I was her age!!!
Yea its cheesy acting. BUT I LOVED IT ANYWAY. I'd rather see Twilight than some Marvel Comics movie aka Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four or whatever, I'd rather see Twilight than Dodgeball or Anchor Man or the dorkus kids for Harry Potter.
And guess what, GUYS(Male speceies), do you really think us WOMEN enjoy watching immature boys fantasy movies?? Unlikely.
So bare with us, support us, just as we would for you.
Thank you Twilight for steppin in, and showing some balls!!
Twihard 4 eva.

Most money by a female director ? Why dont they just say most money when there were 3 leaves on the tree in front of the theatre at 123 Pitterpat Lane? Seriously I cant believe they actually used that as a guideline for a record. *rolly eyes emoticon*
