Ellen DeGeneres is one sneaky cookie! When Mariah Carey came on her show, she popped opened a bottle of champagne to toast the singer’s future pregnancy. But Mariah wouldn’t take a sip!
"I can’t believe you did this to me, Ellen. This is peer pressure!"
Even though Mariah wasn’t playing along,DeGeneres didn’t let the issue go, asking the Grammy-winner again if she was with child, to which Carey replied,
"I can’t believe her… I didn’t say that. No, no, no. My mother would be at home like, on the computer like, ‘What are you talking about?’ We will let you know when we’re going to have a family."
Recently, Carey said she only considered becoming a mother after marrying Cannon in April:
"I’ve changed my mind because I am with The One. I think we would make good parents, and that we’d be able to figure everything out together."
What do you think? Mariah didn’t drink the champagne because she wasn’t up to it? Or because she is in her first trimester?
The better question is – Do you think Mariah will EVER go back on Ellen’s show!!!?
i dont think she is pregnant…i think she probably just doesnt drink or maybe she isnt drinking because she is trying to get pregnant…even so, a sip of champagne when pregnant would not harm the baby…lots of european women have an occassional glass of wine or beer when pregnant & its okay as long as its only once in while.

Mariah Carey sends shivers down my spine like nails on a chalkboard. I love Ellen with all of my heart…but come on…how rude. Let people keep something to themselves until they are ready to announce. I am sure Ellen didn’t mean to be awful, but I seriously just cannot believe she did that. I wonder if she regrets it? I feel sorry for Mariah, and no i don’t think she should go back unless she gets an apology.
Surely there are more important things for Ellen to talk about than whether or not Mariah may be in her first trimester. sheesh. I love Ellen too, but that was a little much.
She does look a bit heavier lately, so maybe. But I am surprised she turned it down since she seems to love champagne and used to drink it all the time.
I really think that it’s wise of celebs not to tell when they are early in the pregnancy. SO much can go wrong, and dealing with a miscarriage (especially since MC is a little bit older) and other complications are hard enough without having the whole world in on it.
Ellen should back off. (Even though I love her…) I bet MC is pregnant, her bosoms are looking rather voluptuous! But if she is only in the first trimester, she has to keep it on the DL until she’s sure it’s going to stick. That’s just common sense…
Shes an “actress” so Im sure she could have faked sipping the champs. And even if she is pregnant ONE sip will not hurt the baby for heavensake. Then she could have avoided the whole conversation.
Then when she came out with the fact that she was pregnant the whole world would condem her for drinking while pregnant. No one would believe that she faked taking a sip.

I would say between some of the pics of her lately and not drinking the champagne that she is pregnant. As a rule you don’t devulge that info untill the 2nd tri. Unless Mariah was really in on it, then Ellen should have not have set her up like that. Even tho Mariah is a famewh*re, in this instance she would probably want to keep it a secret for awhile. I’m sure she will announce it when she is ready if in fact she in pregnant. The stomach crud is going around so it could be that. I have had it and I couldn’t even drink my morning coffee. I know I wouldn’t have been able to drink champagne and all its bubbles.
she’s definitely gained some weight…idk…fergie looks more preggers than mariah…imo
