Every year Babytalk Magazine does a list of the most controversial celebrity parenting stories and gives the winners a Stinky Diaper Award. This year, Jennifer Lopez and Jamie Lynn Spears are taking the honors. Denis Leary also managed to score himself an award after his controversial autism comments.
Topping this year’s list are JENNIFER LOPEZ and MARC ANTHONY for the safety-hazard infused nursery for twins Max and Emme that appeared in the People magazine photo shoot, JAMIE LYNN SPEARS for her glowing declaration on the joys of motherhood, despite the message it sends to her young fans (Jamie Lynn seems to be taking a cue from big sis Britney Spears, a two-time Stinky Diaper recipient herself); and DENIS LEARY for naming a chapter in his new book “Autism Schmautism.”
The magazine has also named a few celebs that lose their baby weight overnight.
Babytalk is also calling out some new celebrity moms for a startling trend—bestowing the “It’s Just a Bump in the Diet” award to HALLE BERRY, NICOLE KIDMAN, and TRISTA SUTTER for dropping their excess baby weight FAST.
How is Nicole Richie not on that list? I remember how completely SHOCKED I was when she was spotted out in her skinny jeans, literally two days after giving birth.
Also, do you agree with the selection of Jamie Lynn for an award? While I agree that it may not be sending the best message to teens that she loves motherhood, it does seem like she's stepped up to the challenge of parenting and is doing the best she can. I won't name them but I can think of MUCH worse celebrity parents than her, to be honest with you.
See more Stinky Diaper Awards here.
Vera, I agree with you about Jamie Lynn. I don't see her as glorifying teenage motherhood, but dealing with what happened. There's a baby now, planned or not, and there's nothing wrong with her enjoying it and enjoying being a mom.

sooo true!!! she hasnt even been in LA, let alone acting. its actually proof that you drop what you do when you have a baby. i dont see much of that in the industry. i'm suprised no one is breastfeeding on the red carpet.

look at those knockers! I guess she has the pregnancy boobs!
At least to her credit Jamie Lynn took responsibility for her actions and she didn't kill her baby. As for the stinky diaper awards I think they should be awarded to the parents who foist their kids onto nannies, who go out all night and party, travel and leave their kids behind, and who are never home with their kids.I'd think several celeb parents would qualify for that!

I completely agree with you! Nicole Richie seems to have matured through motherhood and seems to be doing a good job. Jamie Lynn is always with her daughter and appears to be loving motherhood and is great at it! This list is completely false.

Jamie's boobs are asymmetrical!! I had the same thing when I was breastfeeding. The left one was waaaay bigger.
i do agree about jamiee lynn. she made a mistake by getting pregnant at such a young age. but, how often do we see her out partying? what shows have we seen her in lately? in fact, i never see pictures of her w/o her baby. if anything she should be used as an example for young people because she accepted responsibility for her actions and she is raising her own baby. most teen parents i know are the most irresponsible people i have ever met. i have yet to meet a teen mom that has stepped up to the plate like jamiee. she didn't invent nor is she glorifying teen pregnancy. seriously, this is coming from an industry that glorifies anorexic women by telling young girls that is the ideal way to look. please.

She seems to be trying hard to be a good mom. My sister was the same age when she had my niece, and yeah it was buzzed about, but truth be told, I hope to be a mom like my sister one day.

I get tired of new moms being made fun of for looking thin after giving birth. I've always been think and only gained 10 lbs during pregnancy (my daughter weighed 7 of those). She's a healthy 14 yr old now, 5'9" tall. I looked just like my old self after giving birth. I went right back to the same sizes the week after. I guess people are just jealous? I don't know, but it's sad that something silly issue like this would be called out.
It's all well and good for people who are naturally like you, but that body type is few and far in between. I think Nicole Kidman is of that body type, but Trista Stutter, on the other hand, spoke to all the tabloids about how gigantic and fat she was at 116 pounds. For most people that's really not a healthy body image and it sets a VERY unrealistic standard. Most people are not going to lose the baby weight overnight...although we all wish we could :)
Don't sweat the petty stuff and don't pet the sweaty stuff :)

Sorry for my typos!
Of course people are jealous of skinny minnie new moms :) I know I was! Ha! I gained a whopping 85 lbs with EACH of my kids - and was an average 115 before hand. Congrats to Jamie Lynn for stepping up to the plate...can you imagine her going through pregnancy with all that chaos with Brittney? I respect that she has been out of the spot light recently - time to focus on that baby and learn the ropes. At ANY age, it's not easy.

Trista Sutter is not a celebrity!! Who cares what she's done or how she's done it!!

I do have to say that Jamie Lynne is far more mature and responsible than her older sister but at the same time why did she go on the cover of OK magazine glorying her pregnancy - not once but twice maybe even 3 times...one to announce she's pregnant (was that really necessary?) two to say how wonderful it is to have a baby and 3 to clear the rumors about her boyfriend cheating on her.
They should give the award to celebrity parents who pimp their children for publicity and manipulate the press into photo frenzies. The whore and stupitt.
I don't agree that Jamie Lynn should've received that award. I think she is trying hard, although we don't know what her life is like behind closed doors. And plenty of ppl were having babies out of wedlock and at young ages way before JL. What should she say, she hates motherhood? That wouldn't stop people from having sex. She comes off really down to earth and responsible to me.
This magazine is useless. I think Jamie Lynn should be proud of herself. Im proud of her. I have no idea what they are talking about with JLO Im sure she would never intentionally put her children in danger. Nicole Kidman could have triplets and still be a size 2. Im tired of people blaming whatever celebrities do as a reason for why young girls or women make mistakes in their lives. I can honestly say the only part of my life that celebrities influence is entertainment and fashion. I don't let them influence my vote, charities, dress size, love life etc. Thank you mom!
