Kate Winslet just recently did an interview with Parade Magazine. The gorgeous actress talks about her weight, of course. It seems to come up no matter which reporter she's talking to, but she's always happy to answer questions on body image.
I have been very lucky to achieve a certain amount of success at a certain age, so that I didn't have to change myself physically in order to attempt to find my success. That's been a very, very big deal. As a kid, I was not very confident at all. I think that my confidence as a woman and as an actress has grown over the years through the roles I've played. But at the same time, this notion that nobody is perfect -- movie stars included -- is very important to me. It's a very important message to give to young women.
For that reason I will never be unhappy to talk about it. Because it IS a big subject in people's minds, and I do think that it will continue to be important, simply because so much of what young women are seeing these days is through the media. It's the exact reason why, even though I'm on the covers of magazines, I don't allow magazines into my home -- because that's where it starts. My daughter is eight. It's only a matter of time before she is going to start picking these magazines up and going, 'Oh, can I have that lip gloss?' or 'I like that thing' or that... She's eight. Come on. I don't want it to start that young -- body awareness seems to be getting younger and younger.
It's true that she's one of the few female stars whose look hasn't changed drastically with the passing of time. Everyone else seems to feel that Hollywood pressure to lose weight or get a nose job or change something about their physical appearance, but Kate manages to stay true to herself. I really admire that about her.
That's Kate Winslet? It looks nothing like her.

The main picture doesn't look anything like her but the other two do. I LOVE the second picture. She is absolutely GORGEOUS.

Why is she suddenly everywhere? Also, nobody cares about her weight. That is such an obnoxious topic to discuss in interviews.

She has two films coming out next month..."Revolutionary Road" and "The Reader".
That first pic is nasty. Why would they pic that looks like she has makeup smeared under her eye?

the pictures are very bad.
Is it the first pic is pre photoshop? Even her skin looks uneven which when you really think about it most people's skin is in "normal" pics. The one below with the blue background looks like the "after" version.

love her! but yeah the above picture she looks weird - it's a bad picture! we all know she's a lot prettier than that.
I don't know if its because she is so thin, but it doesn't even look like her to me! If it is the weight, I like her with a few more pounds!

First picture needs photoshop. Fast! You should see the other photoshoot (I believe the Vanity Fair one. She's hooot!
She looks nothing like herself in those pictures. And while I think she's a fab actress I'm a bit tired that she keeps talking about her weight everytime she gives an interview. It makes me think that secretly she'd love to be thinner but because she can't lose those "extra" pounds she goes on and on about it how happy she is with her body and how wrong it is to promote a thinner body. ... just a thought ;-)
