I never thought about this! Nicole Kidman obviously has an Australian accent, but she is going to raise Sunday Rose with Keith Urban in Nashville. What will Sunday Rose grow up to have?! I'm intrigued!!
It can't be a combination of the two as that would be be awkward. I suppose it will be where she spends the most time. And odds are that will be in the States. If Nicole had her say, she would want Sunday to sound like a Southern Belle.
"I hope she has a Southern accent. I’m glad that (Sunday) is able to say she’s born and bred in Nashville and Tennessee. That is really lovely.
"I think it’s very appropriate, considering her daddy. His whole life was headed here - from a little boy, he dreamed of coming here. For him to be able to say his baby girl was born here, I think is very special."
I dont think this woman knows what she is talking about when it comes to southern accents! I grew up in the south. I had a full on southern accent. I was lucky enough not to have a hillybilly sounding one (like some members of my family do) but a more proper sounding one (basicly what you mean by southern belle type), however when I moved it was hell still. I got people left and right giving me hell for it and not being able to understand me really. It is NOT a fun thing to have. And even more when some of your other family sounds nothing like you. I go back home still and get my ass kicked for not sounding southern now while I used to get my ass kicked for sounding southern by the members of my family that didn't. And not only did I have issues with mine when I had mine (thank god it's gone) but my mother has issues with her's ALL the time. Even to the point that people will avoid her saying she is racist because she is southern even though that's far from the truth.

Keith does not have a southern twang. He's Australian too... Proud of my southern accent! It's part of who I am!

Keith doesn't have a "southern twang" - he's Australian too....
Scotti I agree. I still live in the south but travel up north a good bit. When I'm up there I have to repeat my self constantly. Either people don't understand me, or they want to hear more of the southern drawl.

I was born and raised in Nashville. I love my southern accent, but now that I am an ER doc living out west...it does make it difficult for my patients to understand me...and mine is not that "thick"! She may get more than she bargains for with her wish!
Yeah, they're both Aussies. I guess if Sunday spends most of her time there, she will have a TN accent.

Wow - you guys took this all so literally! My first thought was that it seemed like a very sweet and self-less thing to say. I love that she's always putting her hubby first!!
i HATE her hair color, fake lips and forhead...Nicole was so unique...she should keep her curvy-natural color hair AND natural lips!
Didn't she say she concived in Austrilla while filming?

I am from Memphis TN. & I love my southern accent. I hate Yankee accents! They sound like they are whining all time! Nashville is an awesome city & I am glad to have another proud resident of our state! TN welcomes the best!
I'd much prefer an Australian accent over a Southern one; it just sounds more cultured, refined, and "cool".

I love the Australian accent too but the southern accent is endearing.
