Kristen Stewart Hates Doing Twilight Press
Kristen Stewart absolutely HATES doing press for Twilight. In fact, one person who works with the movie said that she, ''had to be begged to do anything.'' Apparently she gets really nervous...so maybe that's why she was turning to the pipe the other day. :) The source says,
At the recent press junket for ''Twilight,'' many of my colleagues in the television and print press commented openly on difficulties getting Stewart to handle even the most basic questions about her role or the film, based on Stephenie Meyer's first novel in her vampire love story series. ''It's not like we were delving into her personal life, asking who she's dating, or whether she'd been to rehab,'' zinged a well-known Hollywood reporter.
Many people even openly wondered if Kristen was too over-medicated to handle questions.
While it must be hard if you're a shy person, it comes with the territory. If you make a great film and want people to watch it, you have to promote it. Hopefully Kristen gets used to doing press because it's not like this madness is going to stop any time soon!

Before this, before Twilight, I really liked her. I saw her in the Safety of Objects and Panic room when I was like, twelve. Even then, I loved her. Actually, I had an uber girl crush on her. But now, seeing her in interviews and such, I'm liking her less and less. I understand shyness. I can't imagine being thrown into the spotlight like that. But there is something so disingenous about her, something that puts me off. I don't know how to explain it. On another note, I saw Twilight yesterday--there were only, like, eight people in the theater! LoL!-- and, I really hated it. It looked like a '90s made-for-TV movie, the dialogue was horrible, their relationship was rushed, the Cullens were secondary characters which was depressing, and it just didn't translate properly. However, I liked Nikki Reed a lot more than I thought I would. The baseball scene was fantastic. I hated that James -- Cam Gigandet AKA Mr. Hotness -- wasn't in it more. I thought it was unbelievable that Victoria was at prom because, well, why is she going to wait almost a year between New Moon and Eclipse to come back? I don't know, for me, it was seriously lacking.
God, i just hate her !

Oh, REALLY? Like no one noticed how bored she looks. I understand being shy, etc, because I totally HATE it when I have to talk in public, but I never thought she looked shy, just plain bored or like a kid who had been throwing a fit.

I think 18 is an awkward stage...It's cool to be moody and brooding lol! And she is most definitely bored...can you imagine being asked the same ridiculous questions over and over and over again? I think she is just an artistic type who does movies for the love of the craft, and probably never really aimed to be in a blockbuster that is as huge as Twilight is. She'll learn to manage the press better as time goes on...come on - it's been a week and her life has changed dramatically! Give the girl a break...she's talented.

Wow, the comments thus far are really lacking. From any of the interviews I have heard or seen of her while doing promotion for 'Twilight' the comments and questions were always directed towards and/or about Rob. Her questions are the same, and of course you'd get bored after a while of being asked the same thing day in and day out, would you not? So she was caught on film smoking some pot.. who cares? She is under a buttload of stress and doing junction after junction of press for this movie. I liked the movie.. correction, loved the movie! I did not read the books, so the movie was my introduction to the 'Twilight' series. She did a great job, and I find that she has a great range as an actor. The fact that she is not into answering the same question time and time again does not bother me.. but wow, you all are so quick to judge and flip flop on her. When I bet half of you were on other posts on this site going on and on about how you love her and the movie. Fake.
Also, add the fact that she is constantly being asked about her relationship with Robert. How many times can the girl say "I have a serious boyfriend"? Enjoy the movie for what it offers, and don't dwell so much on the interviews, does it really matter that much? Yea, didn't think so...
She's an actor, can't she fake it? Both she and Pattinson are awkward jerks in interviews, they kinda deserve each other.

There is nothing wrong with smoking pot. It is better then getting liquored up and getting into a fight or driving and killing someone or over dosing and getting your stomach pumped or dieing. No one ever died from smoking pot and it’s impossible to OD on pot. Plus it helps cancer patients so do us all a favor and STFU and stop attacking our webmistress.
Just because she is not a press whore like Miley Cyrus or Paris Hilton, who are so fake that it is taken as an insult doesn't make her a bad person! I love her and I think she does a good job! I would get sick of the same questions over and over again! She is used to indy films which don't get as much attention as twilight but she is still doing her interviews! I think she is just being honest and being herself!

I too have lost respect for her after watching how bad she behaves during her interveiws.....and felt her 'acting' on-screen lacked depth and emotion. I feel she is taking herself WAY too serious...Yes, a press junket can be exhausting but...she is an 'actor' and THAT comes with the job....'ACT' like a professional, not a bored, spoiled, hair flipping little brat....sadly, she seems to be wearing off on Pattinson, who when alone interveiws nicely.....boy I wish I could treat the people who just made me millions like crap too.

To start off, I am going to say everyone is entitled to there opinion. I have seen two or three interviews, read interviews about Twilight and watched her films. I'm not going to deny she's a brill actress, I've liked her since Panic Room... I will say tho, that I am disappointed as to what I've read. I guess this is how it feels when your idol isn't as perfect as you think they are. Maybe it's gullibility on my part, only god knows.
My little sister, Hayley and I were fans of the book Twilight before it was a film and I counted down the days from July. When I heard Hayley tell me that Kristen Stewart had been casted the part of Bella Swan, I couldn't have been happier, an actress that I liked and now I can't think of anyone else more suited.
However, as I've read up there somewhere, it's her line of work... she can't expect people to just ignore her when passing, Bella Swan, Twilight... it's huge and she's been cast a huge part, she's bound to get press asking her questios and as an actress she should be prepared. I know she's only eighteen and I'll defend her where necessary, like her pot smoking, who's business is it, what teenager hasn't done it in showbizz. As a much loved Lindsay Lohan fan, she's ended up in rehab, Britney was young in the business and she did. She's not on heroin or an alcoholic, guys, come on. It's just a bit of weed!
I am looking forward to seeing the movie as I'm not ashamed to say, I'm an obsessive fan of all the books and yes the movie, because I know the book was great, so I know what to expect.
I don't know what else I can say other than yes, I am a Twilight, Kristen Stewart fan and YES I am disappointed by her interview. What fan wouldn't be?
Kristen Stewart ruined Twilight and ruined Bella. She was boring, monotone, and manly sounding. She smokes pot, when half of her fan base is made up of teens who look up to and admire her. It's a f*cking miracle she even has fans and then she goes and calls them retarded in an interview!! Thats sweet, huh? I mean, those retarded fans don't give her her career or anything. Basically, shes a piss poor actress, without a morsel of talent and I'll have to suffer through the next to Twilight movies listening to her. I can't BELIEVE they ever thought about replacing Taylor Lautner (although I can't say I'm a huge fan of him either), they NEED to replace Kristen!! In the movie when James broke her leg, I wanted to scream "THANK YOU! Now BREAK THE OTHER ONE!"

Kristen seems to be having some major unresolved personal issues which unforunatelly affect her person so far that she isn't able to put together a simple answer to a simple question.
Now, I'm not going to judge her for having any kind of issues BUT when it comes to acting or promoting a film than an actor should be able to put their personal problems aside to some decent extent. First of all if you aren't able to express any emotions because of your shyness than either quit on acting or start working on improving your skills seriously. Because acting is ALL ABOUT portraing emotions etc.. Kristen's Bella was like those car dummies, you can move them, kick them, throw them but they won't give you any emotion.
Second thing is, if you're nervous promoting a movie- fine, take some time at home to think about what you'll say when they ask you essential questions (they're always the same anyway) and be nervous if you can't help yourself but still- promote it! Promote it because the movie you're promoting feeds you so if nothing else do it out of respect to all the other cast and crew members who worked so hard to bring a movie to life.
Very good assessment. I totally agree. She is like a crash dummy. BUT the TIIC thinks she is gorgeous (she is prettty) and that's all they want, someone to match Rob's good looks. Rob and his vampire family carry this movie. They were all really good actors. Even Bella's friends in school were really good and believable, but Kristen - not so much. Remember when the bad vampire (oxymoron) had her in studio. She barely wimpered. Most actors even novices or bad actors would have at least cried, screamed or even tried to look afraid, but she was just like o.k. what's my line. And when he broke her leg, most people would have cried for days she said "Owww" and that was it. O and please let's not talk about the hospital scene when Edward suggests she go away. A deaf and dumb sea lion could have emoted better than that. But alas, this is Hollywood - it's about who you know. This girl could not act her way out a paper bag with directions in English, braille, and a GPS for dummies (crash test dummies).
Does anyone EVER think about the fact that the actors have to answer to a director, and inevitably it is the director that decides how the scenes play out. Kristen has been absolutely fantastic in her other films (which you'll note are not as hyped up as "Twilight") and previous to this hadn't needed to go on tour and pander to 13 year old fans. All the characters in the movie came off as awkward and jerky and unfortunate, which i think attributes more to either the director, producer, or author wanting it that way, because their past performances don't lead me to believe it was their choice or skill that lead to it.
And finally, Kristen is a person, a real person, with real likes and dislikes, who is absolutely allowed to dislike the book and character that she plays, which might also lead to her distaste in doing the interviews.
