Kid Rock Wants To Go To War With Peta
This doesn't have to do with ending his relationship with Pamela Anderson on bad terms does it?
Kid Rock told The Daily Mail that he is ready to go to war with Peta. He is actually almost daring activists to throw red paint on him while wearing one of his furs. The singer feels that Peta targets female actresses who wouldn't defend themselves while being attacked.
"I want to go to war with PETA. My biggest extravagance is fur coats - I’ve got every kind of animal in my wardrobe."
"I’m just willing the animal rights protesters to chuck some red paint on me.
"I understand people’s problems with it but to throw paint on someone is just wrong. They do it to little Hollywood actresses who can’t defend themselves."
Now, all we have to do is sit back and wait for Peta's response. Popcorn popping in the microwave as we speak.

While I don't agree with the fur coats, I would NEVER throw anything on someone who wore it. PETA needs to get over it. I cannot stand them.
Kudos to Kid Rock. I've actually met him here in Nashville in a parking area. He has a place in the Viridian where my friend lives. He's really nice and down-to-earth.

Yeah, I can't say that I agree with fur. But throwing paint on some unsuspecting person walking into an event is extremely malicious! It just doesn't make very much sense preaching to people to not be mean and horrible then try to illustrate your point by being mean and horrible. What does this really accomplish?

While I agree that PETA getting physical & throwing paint (which I think was more the trend in the 90's than recently) is NOT a good idea and does NOT help their cause, I think Kid Rock saying something inflammatory & violent to get attention makes him look pretty lame.

Good for him! PETA sucks!! They are so intrusive; no one has the right to tell someone what they can or cannot wear. If one wants to wear fur and eat meat, etc... they are free to do it.It's nobody's business!PETA should mind their own business and piss off!
I don't agree with PETA and the tatics they use (Integrity obviously does not come into their vocabulary) But I also don't agree with the statement "They do it to little Hollywood actresses who can’t defend themselves" It seems hypocritical- animals cannot defend themselves against humans yet these girls choose to continue to wear fur. I am in no way validating PETAs actions but it is a slightly foolish comment. I wish PETA would use its time to properly educate people. Tis a shame!

This is so right. The way that PETA conducts themselves is completely wrong. It's harassment not "freedom of speech". They endanger the lives of starlets and other people just to get a point across. The life of an animal is not worth the life of a human.

Well, I've gotten on my soapbox and basically stomped on it over and over again on this website, and I'm too lazy to do so right now. All I have to say is this: you guys, you can feel however you want to about PETA as an organization (and some criticism of PETA holds validity), but your personal feelings about PETA still don't sway two basic, unalienable truths regarding this situation: 1) many animals are treated horribly in the process of making one solitary fur coat that could EASILY be replaced by a lookalike synthetic version, and 2) Kid Rock is a outrageously stupid redneck mongoloid who produces atrocious music and probably shouldn't be emulated in any sort of fashion WHATsoFREAKINGever. That horrid Skynrd-sampling, getting drunk and hooking up with skanks all summer long song makes me want to tear my ears out with a dull fork.

Lene, It's not that we (atleast not me) agree with people wearing fur. I would personally NEVER wear it, but it is NOT up to PETA to decide whether they do or do not. I even think it's okay for them to criticize celebrities on their website. Okay, fair enough - Freedom of speech. But to actually have the audacity to go and throw paint on these people is NOT right. It is not up to them to decide what these people wear and do not wear. It is not their decision to make.

There's enough caring to go 'round for more than one cause. You ever have a pet, Raclaat? That you liked? Imagine that pet being skinned alive, because they do that to animals, including cats and dogs in some parts of the world. It wasn't that long ago that Diddy's "faux fur" turned out to be dog fur.
I think rather than throwing paint and bringing the extremists out on both sides, they should work harder at educating people about the condition of these animals' lives and the manner of their deaths. I also dislike the "I'd rather go naked than wear fur" campaign, because the objectifying of women as sex objects does not seem like an ethical match.

the problem is that when paint gets thrown on someone, they are viewed as a victim and it turns people off from animal rights. it makes peta look like the bad guys, when the bad guys are the people torturing animals and making the fur coats. if peta would focus on raising awareness in a respectful manner, i think a lot more people would listen. they need to offer reasonable solutions to the problems at hand, not just try to scare and shock.
Yes, the theory proposed by idiots: if you speak up for animals, then you must hate humans. If you care so much for animals, then why are you not helping humans. As if you cannot do both. People who view animals as "under us" and "stupid" and "there just for are use" and "disposable" just prove the fact that they are complete morons who do not understand the basic concept of how you treat the ones that are under you, and less powerful than you and under your control is the very measure of what kind of person and society we live in. There is nothing wrong with eating animals and using them productively, but there is something very wrong if a person can honestly say that they do not see a problem with people ripping the skin of an animal who is alive or letting them slowly die in a trap in agony. You can care for animals and people. You can champion BOTH causes. There should not be a them versus us attitude. It is called respect. It is called deceny. Only bullys, wimps, and people who have no respect for themselves feel the need to call animals stupid and useless. It is not how you use the power you have, it is how you choose not to use it.

Yeah people did wear fur to survive...but we've evolved. We don't still hunt with spears. And animals aren't here for the purpose of humans as someone said...animals have been here longer than humans have, and after the human race dies off I'm sure there will still be animals...as long as we haven't fucked up the world so much that the earth can't even sustain animal life. There are so many alternatives to fur that there is no need to wear it anymore. People who wear fur should be happy that all they have to 'suffer through' is getting red paint thrown at them.
