Private Practice’s Kate Walsh has officially split from her husband Alex Young citing "irreconcilable differences". The film executive is actually the one who filed the paperwork.
People Magazine scrounged up the following quote from an old appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ show where Kate confessed there really was nothing to look forward to after the wedding.
"There was this kind of funny moment, after we were like we’re married
and all of the hoopla was over and we were like, ‘What do we do now?’ ""We’re married," she said at the time. "Alright, I guess we just live and love and learn from each other."
Sometimes it just doesn’t work out. The pair was married just over a year.

I think what she said is very illuminating. They didn’t know how to be married. And when you get married, you’ve got to have some idea where your heading and how things are supposed to work, or it cant. Eventually (just like this case) it falls apart. Im amazed that we teach our kids so much, how to ballance check books, get a carreer, but we dont teach much about getting *and staying* married. Time to take a lesson from our grandparents who’ve been married 60+ years. My grandmother said to me “You might not always like him, or even sometimes love him, but you *both* have to make it work. You have to be committed to making it work, and eventually it will.” Our generation is only as committed as they are in love, and the first time it’s not “romantic” or the love isnt in the air, we run for the hills and find someone new.
I totally saw this coming when I saw pictures of her the other day without her wedding ring!

I think this was a blind item either here on INO or in Dlisted….wow these blind items are right on. There is another blind item about Paltrow and her husband, something about a divorce to be announce soon. Wouldn’t it be awesome if Brad and Gwyneth get together again?…LOL

I think it’s silly how easily people just get divorced. But hey, I guess we don’t really know the whole story. There’s probably much more to it.
I think it’s silly how easily and quickly people get married. She obviously married for the wrong reasons thinking marriage is going to change everything. Well, guess what? It doesn’t. You’re the same person before and after you put on that wedding ring. And you have to think long and hard about making that sort of commitment. Anyway, no surprises in Hollywood…
