No, just no. Did not like it.
I also preferred Lily's version. .....But, I wonder, and I don't know the etiquette here, but isn't it sort of a slap in the face to do a cover of a song that has been so recently released? I mean, if it's been a few years, it's considered a tribute, but at this point it strikes me more as an "I can do this better than you" statement.
It's different, and she did well with it. The song was intended to be done as a sultry version, and she did that quite nicely. p.s. it's a sure bet that she did get permission, but was in slight trouble with Regal Records for the Upload!

I love Lily's accent and I can understand the words better when she sings them... I like this version!
I say if she wants to wear that hat, let her. She's not concern with fashion statements, and doesn't mind being a little silly. She's certainly not that person in the papers, that they write about. She gets provoked too much, about everything. I think shes funny!
As far as Lily's outfit here? I don't think we're going to need a Fashion Find on this one. ;o)
I'm with you on the outfit! It's too confusing.. I'll wear shorts.. but I have to wear a coat, and I'll wear the hat because they don't go with the shorts but it's cold... On the lighter side Lily Allen has pulled off some stunners, and she is very cute... So no real dis there!
i like the verses better on lily's version but i can't stand the chorus, the whole womanizer is already annoying on britney's version but with lily version it's worse. in fact what i like in the britney's version is the hysterical rythm, just to dance and after a few listen it become actually pretty good.
i'm not sure i would feel the same after hearing a few times lily's one.
and i too wonder what the point to do a cover of a new song.
The song was not written by Spears, so... it's not really "a slap in the face" like it's been said. Lily felt like the song was "hers" just as Spears and recorded. I dont see a problem here and that has happend before in music business. By the way Lily's version is way better...
Yeah that's a good point Marri also Lily Allen was required (by her record company) to do extra work for download and discover. This song was they're choice.

Lily's version is much better- because she can sing. Britney just talks in a baby voice, and then mixes it with a Casio keyboard into what is supposed to music.

I think Lily Allen is very misunderstood because of papers like Sun U.k. and Mirror U,K. now if your a Britney Spears fan, I will say the same thing about her. Too much focus too much control, I saw For the record, twice! For someone who claims to be SO original and here she is reproducing none other than Britney. Pathetic I think. Ok she has a bigger voice than Britney but it's not that good of a voice either. Didn't she just slam Katy Perry last week for not writing her own song????????
It does not make sense to say Lily Allen has a bigger voice but can't really sing!Britney Spears did not write this song. Lily Allen knows that Katy Perry did not write I kissed a girl. But she was given credit for the song. Katy perry had her name surrounded by Max Martin, and two other writers, that pen songs for Britney Spears and Pink (among others) Perry is part of the Hollywood hype machine, that's why her name is on the sheet music. Lily Allen wrote 13 + songs before she did this one so she can't be discredited. She also recorded the song as extra work, this was a record company choice. not hers. for discover and download! If you don't like her get off the page!

She can sing better than Britney for sure but she is not that great of a singer herself. And don't tell me to get off the page. I am a member of INO and I have to right to comment on any story on this site. I don't care what Katy Perry wrote or didn't write, I was just saying that don't slam an artist for not writing their own song or for not being original and record a cover of someone else's song the week after that. I know Britney Spears didn't write that song but someone had to and it's not Lilly either.
Lily Allen writes her own songs, so she can mix it up, without being a hypocrite about it> if she didn't write her own songs you would have a good point.

So what? She has already proved what she is capable of, didnt she? I think she has recorded that song 'cause it has a lot to do with all she's written. It's soooo Lily this lyric that she just had do recorded! And with Lily, finally the song got a soul! ;)
