Cosmopolitan Responds To Scarlett Johansson Mix Up

Cosmopolitan Responds To Scarlett Johansson Mix Up

Blame it on the freelancer!!

UK's Cosmopolitan Magazine has finally responded to the allegations that their entire interview with Scarlett Johansson was made up. I've been waiting all night for this one.

Turns out they got the quotes from a freelance writer who swore he interviewed the actress... and they believed him.

"UK Cosmopolitan printed an interview with Scarlett Johansson that included quotes from an agency journalist regarding the actress’s marriage. We ran these quotes in good faith with the understanding that the interview was carried out with the approval of Ms. Johansson and her publicist. UK Cosmopolitan is taking the complaints by Ms. Johansson’s publicist seriously and is investigating the matter further."

At least they are making an effort to get to the bottom of this. What kind of agency journalist did they hook up with? I mean, I still can't get over the whole thing. He must have gotten paid a pretty penny for Ryan Reynolds quotes as Scarlett doesn't talk about her personal life.

ill bet this is because magazines are downsizing and laying off staff that is full time, and hiring freelancers to do work instead, because they are less overhead than full time employee writers on the staff. this is really terrible though, and more of it will happen the more the magazines are forced to reduce staff-both the writers and the fact checkers who should have caught this.

Cosmo, I interviewed Scarlett too. And britney, and christina, and nicole, and everyone else, and I have totally new quotes too. Will you believe me too and pay me? Please? Pretty please?

God, they are ridiculous.

Sounds like they picked a scapegoat and are running with that angle. Come-on. It's common sense. If you've got a free-lance writer claiming they have an interview from someone who doesnt give interviews often or talk about her private life, you have to KNOW somethings not right. If its too good to be true...

That's pretty lame on their part. I hate that magazine and never buy it anyway!
