How Did Some Celebrities Spend Christmas?

Lots of one liners came out this morning about how celebrities spent Christmas. Instead of drawing it out and making a post for each, here is a quick consolidation.

  • Mariah Carey: "I am going to cook at Christmas time. (Linguini and white clams) was my father’s recipe and he gave me the recipe… Most
people who have my linguini and clams have never eaten that before and
then it becomes their favourite thing."
  • Emma Watson: "That’s a family thing. We’re all going up there for Christmas. I love skiing."
  • Kate Hudson: "Christmas has always been a big holiday for our family and we’ve
always been pretty crafty anyway. We all knit. The girls knit. This
year I’m doing these great big knits. We’re going to ski like we always do. My son is skiing now."
  • Reese Witherspoon: "I have kids, so it’s a lot about opening presents. And then I start
cooking, and I really enjoy that part of it. They play with their toys,
and I cook some dinner. It’s nice."
  • Kate Winslet: “We have Santa Claus, and Santa Claus, and gifts and more Santa Claus
and open fires and a lot of food and no one gets out of their pajamas
    for about a week.”
  • Rachel Bilson: “The things that I look forward to for the holidays is just being at
home and eating all my mom's food and cookies, and that's really what
I'm focusing on more because that's the best part.”
  • Paris Hilton: “I am going to Aspen next week with my family.”

That all sounds nice. I'm sure my experience of it was way different than Paris Hilton's, but I liked Aspen a lot. I don't even ski and we were there in the summer, but they have some beautiful scenery and I love the aspen trees themselves. The leaves shimmer in the breeze with a soft zen-like musical sound. That's a poor description, but they're really cool. It's nice to read of stars doing normal human things like cooking and knitting.

I wonder how Brittney's family felt with her going away for the holidays to be with Paris. Why would Paris not want Brittney to be with her family? Perhaps she'd rather be away for the holidays...

It seems like everyone is invading Aspen. Mariah is up there as well. I live down in the Denver area and at the moment the mountains are just getting hammered with a blizzard. We usually do Aspen in the summer and fall. I hate winter driving up in the mountains.

Denver? King Sooper! Haven't been there in years. I worked the last game of their baseball minor league team and they had the best fireworks I've ever seen! That was more than a decade ago. In Aspen we ate at a place that I think is called the Library Cafe. It's upstairs in a book store. The waitress dropped our entire platter of food, so we got to spend some extra time there. ;o)

I couldn't have got that more wrong - it's not the Library Cafe, it's the Explore Bookstore and Bistro.

Gotta love King Soopers. I am a proud owner of a soopers card. We used to take the kids to the minor league baseball games all the time, they did have great fireworks. Now that we have pro instead we don't go to the pro games. We take a ride up to Aspen every fall to look at the fall colors on the aspen trees and stop and have lunch there. This past fall it was in the 80's when we went up so we got to eat outside. We have been to Explore, I love their food. Luckily, no one has dropped our tray.

But seriously, I can't picture mariah in the kitchen cooking. I can't even picture her knowing how to turn on the stove. And no, flashing your cleavage at the stove does not turn it on Mariah.

That's funny! ;o)

2 Amy - I don't think mariah is so stupid. I'm pretty sure she knows how to turn the stove on and off =)
