Keri Russell Is A Working Mom

Like all working mothers, Bedtime Stories star Keri Russell struggles to balance work with parenting. She's married to carpenter Shane Deary and has a one-year-old son, River. In a truly unusual move for an actress, Keri doesn't even have a live-in nanny! Caring for River is becoming even more challenging as he gets older and more mobile.
'He doesn't really sit still enough. He can't sit
on a plane anymore. He's not a little baby. I can't schlep him over on
these six-hour flights for three days,' says Russell. 'It gets harder.
We're still figuring it out. Thankfully I have a husband who's really
involved and great. We finally had to hire a babysitter. She helps me
when I'm working. Shane will take days off if I'm really working hard,
and when I'm home, I'm really home.'"
Making a children's movie was part of the appeal for Keri's co-star, Adam Sandler, and he used that as part of the motivation for Keri to star in the film, as well.
I was really pregnant when he called to ask me to do it...He called me and said, 'Hey, I have a kid and I hear you're having a
kid and I want to make a movie my kid can see and you should do it with
me.' I'm not kidding. And I said OK."

Now that Keri's had River, though, she said she's "excited to show the movie to him." Keri also had fun making the movie; she likes being the only girl on set!
You're trying to hang on and ride the wave.
I like being around guys. Guys are so simple. They sit around, tell
funny stories. They're usually not talking (expletive) about people. It
was a total guys set, and I didn't mind being the only girl, and I want
to do another movie with Sandler."
Being home when she isn't working isn't so bad, either. Shane used his carpentry skills to renovate their home.
It's so beautiful. [Shane's] such a stud. It's done. There are a few lights
that aren't in place, and a few chairs, but it's so beautiful. And he
did it. "
Not a bad quality for a husband to have! Keri seems like such a down-to-earth person, it's good to hear that things are going so well for her!

That kid is a little big to be a snuggly. And Keri Russell looks like a middle-aged housewife. She needs to lose the ugly granny hat, too!

A lot of parents sling their kids at that age and older. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the paps, but I bet it comes in handy to keep her son close and away from the nutjob photogs.

Keri is an amazing actress and I'm sure she's a great mom! She's got a good head on her shoulders and it's good that she doesn't get too much paparazzi attention. That always seems to ruin them.

She was really good in Bedtime Stories. It was a cute movie. Russell Brand was hilarious, as was Guy Pearce. :)

I have nothing against Kerri, but why do we have to make it seeem like celebs are heroes if they don't have a nanny? Ooooh, she's parenting her own child, how amazing!
I agree with Poly. I mean millions of people raise children without nannies. Anyway I need her hat in my life. Does anyone know where to find one like that?

The article says she doesn't have a LIVE-IN nanny. Of course she has someone helping her during the day. BFD. I doubt there are ANY celebs who don't have nannies. BTW i give her marriage 2 years max.

So she doesn't have a live-in nanny. Big freaking deal!!!! My husband and I work well beyond full-time..... my husband has a full-time job and on top of that, renovates houses, and cleans houses/businesses on the side. I run a home daycare (5 kids...... ages 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) and we have two kids of our own (8 year old twins) and I do the books for my husband's business as well as my own. On top of that, I cook, clean, pay bills, and do all the mommy/school stuff (PTA, making cookies, etc.) and we take our kids to karate and dance. And we don't have a live in OR live out nanny!!!!!!!! I'm so tired of celebrities being worshipped for doing "make believe" as a job and not often not even doing it full-time!!!!
wow, she sure does love that hat.
