Anne Hathaway Focused On Finding A Good Man

Anne Hathaway Focused On Finding A Good Man

You may think Anne Hathaway is one of those girls who's all about the big white dress and elaborate wedding from her latest movie choices (Rachel's Getting Married, Bride Wars), but Anne says that just isn't the case while doing the red carpet for the Bride Wars premiere.

'Weddings have never really been my thing... I really have never thought about [my wedding]. I just want a good husband,' she said on the Tiffany & Co. blue carpet, lined with pink rose petals. "

I think Anne is on to something, don't you?  So many women get caught up in being a bride and having that magical wedding, they forget something key: it's just one day!  After the wedding, they actually have to live with this person and build a life together.  (Of course, it's possible to have a great wedding and a great life, too;)

Good luck Anne! I'm getting ready to get married for the second time and I can't believe how upset so many people are that we're having a small, private wedding. Its one day and we want to do it our way :-)

Exactly! It's about the commitment, not the 'Stuff.' Only 2 people are involved in that! Just throw a party later in the month and celebrate w/everyone who loves you THEN!!!

The life after the wedding is what I think is really important. I also don't like the idea of a big wedding, I don't want a huge group of people staring at me the whole time. I do however want a gorgeous dress and a nice reception, but I don't know how I'm going to justify the dress without a traditional ceremony.

Good luck to her, but she needs to stop talking about her "man hunt". She sounds a bit desperate.

I think she was probably responding to a question asked in relation to her movie. She is spot on. I just think about the time, money & frustration that goes into the Wedding Day. What a waste, IMO. It's what happens from that time forward that REALLY matters! I'm glad my wedding was just me, my husband & 2 witnesses.

I'm with Brittio; I'm getting married for the second time as well, and we want to save our money for a great honeymoon, not a big wedding. But we're already getting bombarded with, "Have you set a date? How big will the wedding be? How many bridesmaids?" etc. I realize people are excited but we really are leaning toward a family-and-very-close-friends-only wedding.
