This is too funny! But, I totally understand her point of view. IF I worked out, and IF I were to ever hire a personal trainer, I would probably have the same problem. And by IF, I mean, never going to happen. ![]()
Melanie Brown says she no longer hires staff to keep her fit because she gets too distracted!
"I don’t have a personal trainer – if anything, I might take a spin
class once a week, or do a boot camp class. But that’s about it! "I had
personal trainers when I was in my twenties, but I didn’t really do
much training – I did more talking!"
I have friends who do better when they have an exercise partner or a trainer, but other people seem to prefer to go it alone. If you’re a gym bunny, would you rather have company, or get in and get out on your own?

I love to talk while I work out and I found that I had the same problem with a trainer. I now just make my husband work out with me, because i can talk all I want and he can’t get mad (well he can, but still) – plus, I don’t pay him!
So much easier and better to do it with a s/o or a friend… you don’t have to pay them and they can motivate you just as much.
I’m the opposite, I love getting a personal trainer. I need someone to push me and keep me motivated. Otherwise I reach a plateau and it gets boring. I don’t go to the gym to socialize, so talking is not a problem. Sure, I’ll hold a conversation but my main focus is working out. I wish I could afford a personal trainer, though. My new gym charges an arm and a leg compared to my old gym. :O(
my husband is my personal trainer…its way more fun that way & free.
i like tips from a trainer but i’m definitely prefer to work out by myself!
