The Real Reason By Britney Spears' Dad's Conservatorship

This morning we heard that Britney Spears' dad's conservatorship had been extended...FOR LIFE. Well, now Ok Magazine is claiming they know the real reason behind this shocking decision.
Their cover story is basically that Britney has traded her kids in for fame.
Last fall, as her upcoming concert tour was being organized, Brit's
camp discovered that because of the star's history, they could not
purchase insurance to cover her tour unless she was still under the
conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears. Until
that point, the plan was for the conservatorship to be lifted on Dec.
31, followed by Britney, 27, heading to family court with a petition to
regain custody of Preston and Jayden. But an insider tells OK!, "The insurance situation changed everything."
So, Britney chose to let her father extend the conservatorship in order to get her tour insured. This decision means that no court will ever give her custody of her kids since legally, she's considered a child.
"Whether it was her decision or whether she was pressured into it,
Britney's deal with the devil put the tour ahead of the kids," the
insider tells OK!.
I'm feeling a little sick to my stomach. Did Britney really choose this as an option for her life? And if she was forced into it, does that make her dad the bad guy?

No, her dad is not the bad guy, in fact her dad is the only person that cares for Britney. Her handlers are money makers, agents, record company, promoters. They want to make money, so they told her is either this, or you will not be a star anymore. She chosed to be a star. Maybe she felt pressured, maybe she felt she didn't have any other choice. I know that if she would have chosen her kids, everything, in the end would have fallen into place. She signed her heart away, her kids.

Do you know how much money her dad is making out of her doing this.????? I don't buy that its all that innocent....
Do you have any idea how much money I would make if I designed MetallicA's website, as opposed to a no-name band that nobody gives a damn about? Poor MetallicA! This can only mean I'm taking advantage of their money!
Listen, Nimbus. When you handle assets for the rich and famous you're bound to get more money in the bank. It doesn't matter if you're related to them or not. A conservator handling money for a millionaire celebrity is gonna earn a lot more money than if he does the same job for a girl earning 30K a year. That's just the way of the world. Deal with it.
Don't condemn her father just because Britney's net worth is high. Because if you are, you might as well condemn her mother, her sister, and everybody else in her life who benefited from Britney's fame and fortune. Cuz let me tell you, they sure as hell didn't hesitate to move up to Park Avenue once she got big.
To use your words: "I don't buy that its all that innocent. . ."
This is a major oversimplification of the legal situation, and the illogical conclusion drawn by the magazine is simply wrong. A Conservatorship does not mean that she is legally a child, and even if it did, a minor may still request and receive custody of her children. This is total bullshit.
Sounds like b.s. to me, too!
I totally agree. Furthermore, Britney can petition the court to lift the conservatorship once the insurance situation changes (once the insurance companies feel she's not as great a risk). Moreover, if she has a good relationship with the kids' father, and it seems she does, the legal status of the custody arrangements doesn't matter that much.

Saying she cant get insurance unless shes under a conservatorship sounds a little more logical then saying Daddy Spears is taking over her life for life. Again I would love to know the REAL story here !
I hope this doesn't affect her for the worse. Shame that the tabloids still feel the need to try and bring her down. She can't really win can she?

I think it is BS as well. I honestly do not think that she would choose anything over her kids.

I smell bull$hit too.
First they say she's incompetent, then they say she chose this? Well, she was incompetent to choose, then. It was likely explained to her as a temporary fix to the insurance problem and surely can be overturned if she can prove she's got hold of the reigns. Hope she survives the touring, or else she's in deeper water.

I don't know how the conservatorship affects regaining custody of her children, but I wouldn't go as far as to say she chose her tour over her children. She still sees them, probably more than she would without her father in the picture.
If I'm not mistaken, before the conservatorship was established, wasn't there a point where Britney wasn't allowed to see the kids At All?
She said herself she only wanted kids for the "idea of it all" so the story is not too far fetched. Brit's only sense of worth comes through public adoration and the affection of men. Motherhood is not high on the list although I'm sure she loves her children as much as she can.
She is about as maternal as a bulldog! She left her kids in a car with the court appointed monitor so she could go shopping, drove with her child on her lap instead of in a car seat, and exposes her children to second hand smoke!!!!!
She is nothing but an attention ho, and will gladly give up her kids so she can go on tour.

She thought this neckline was appropriate for a wedding? Oh, boy.
look how many times she didn't show up to court to fight for her children and the day when her 'ahem' door bell didn't work when the body guard tried to drop the kids off....so yeah of course she put her career ahead of her children.
She's never going to get full custody back anyway, so it probably doesn't much matter.
I cannot believe a court would grant this without having credible medical evidence to show a conservator was necessary. I think this is rubbish.

It doesn't matter why it was done. Britney isn't an unending well of money. To put her kids through the best schools and life she needs to support at the very least 4 people with her work. So she chose to support her children. At the very least its self sacrificing, I think the choice isnt if she was forced or if her dad is a bad guy. I think her dad is doing what is right and she is doing whati s right and the rest are ugly details which are necessary.

Printing Bs like this is only gonna land her kids on a therapist couch.
Is anyone else bothered by the title, "What Price Fame?" It seems a little off grammatically... maybe it's just me! :-)
I cannot believe the complete lack of common sense you people have. OBVIOUSLY THERE ARE MEDICAL RECORDS STATING SHE IS UNFIT TO PARENT AND THAT SHE IS BORDER LINE MENTALLY RETARDED. WATCH ANY INETVIEW WITH HER THAT SHIT IS NOT HARD TO FIGURE OUT. GET OVER IT PEOPLE YOUR IDOL IS A MENTALLY HANDICAPPED HICK WHO POSSES NO TALENT AND NO CHARACTER. HA HA HA.

I don't consider him the bad guy. He is who saved her. She would probably be dead by now if she had continued on her self destructive path without him. I am sure he has made some big sacrifices to be with her. The man has no life of his own anymore. It's all centered around Britney. Parents are damned if they do and damned if they don't. People are always saying where's Amy Winehouse's parents, why they can't they be like Britney's dad? Then Britney's dad gets a bad rap because he is considered too overbearing and needs to be financially compensated because he can't leave Britney and go to work. Brit probably needs overbearing to keep her on track. Maybe someday she can do it on her own.
It IS permanent, but only for the time being. IF and WHEN the conservatorship is contested, Britney may go on with her life WITHOUT the need of the conservatorship. Secondly, this is a tabloid, so I do not believe it. She loves those boys so much, and I don't care what anyone says, but that's the truth. She looks STUNNING in those pictures and her boys look SOO adorable. You can tell they have a very amazing relationship with their mother and I HIGHLY doubt that she would sign on to have this conservatorship made COMPLETELY permanent. Bottom line, she will NOT be under this forever. People will do anything to take away her happiness and THAT makes me sick to MY stomach. Let her have a life, enjoy herself, and find the happiness that EVERYONE in the world deserves.
The conservatorship was supposed to be over 12/31 and Jamie can end it whenever he feels ncessary. More than likely it will end after the tour. I Actually think this conservatorship is a smart business move for her. If Jamie wasn't paid thousands of dollars a week her money would go to a lawyer or someone the court chose. She obviously needed someone to care for her and with K fed and everyone trying to grab every penny they can the best place to keep her money is in the family. Same goes for the money her brother got. If she was in any way upset about it, it didn't show since she was recently at his wedding.
Her Dad may have helped her initially - but he should now be teaching her to manage things on her own and become more independent. If he has control over her career decisions, why let her do what obviously has caused her so much grief (be in the public eye)? A smarter business manager would find a dozen other career paths for her to take, would carefully invest her existing money and would help her re-shape her image - Jamie obviously doesn't think his daughter is capable of anything except bubble gum pop and music videos in which she does the same thing every time. The insurance argument is stupid as well - look at Robert Downey Jr. He was completely un-insurable after rehab. It took a lot of hard work and proving himself to win back the trust of the studios and insurance companies. His wife Susan hugely supported him while still letting him make his own choices. If anyone thinks of her as a child, it's Jamie.

I had just started to give her the benefit of the doubt but she has just plummeted way way down again (if its true of course)..... silly silly girl
As soon as I saw her in that "Womanizer" video in the dominatrix outfit I knew Jamie was Satan. He is allowing or even forcing his disturbed -- okay, let's just say crazy -- daughter to sell herself sexually, and at the same time insure that he has a stable income. She doesn't have her own voice -- write her own lyrics -- she can't dance -- she is literally brain-dead T & A. You can't help her except to lock her up in comfort with the best care affordable, and that is what Jamie should be doing with the Spearses' ill-gotten gains. But the way he is STILL cramming his zombified porny daughter down our throats, and showing no repentance about his part in making her what she is, or in setting a bad example for the youth of the world through her teenybopper sex spectacles, shows how fiendish he is.
Jamie can't win.
If he restrains his daughter, he's a control-freak. If he lets her run wild, he's a bad father. Make up your mind, what do you people want?!
i believe it's more about money than anything else, she is the only one that brings in money.
If she doesn't go on a tour, where the money comes in from???
You'd think the Spears family have enough money by now! And knowing that, you'd think Britney wouldn't be so selfish and choose to be with her children and work on getting more custody instead of going on tour. She's just so selfish. It's all about fame and attention for her. And her parents let her do whatever she wants, because she's the cash cow.
Anyone who does not think that her kids would look back and say it was a bad decision for Spears to miss a multi-million dollar payday so she could have her kids back a year earlier is crazy. They will have wanted her to take advantage of these prime golden earning years and see her when they can. Many, many Hollywood actresses made the same decision in the 40's 50's and 60's to earn while they were young and then retire, to a wealthy life of jet setting around the world in retirement. They see her more than a typical working single-mom gets to see her kids every day. And they don't have millions of dollars to live on when they can't work anymore........
