Boo…. I was hoping for Lily. I think Lily and Violet would be a cute combo.

  2. poetstar says:

Well I predicted she would have another flower in the name. Yay me! I agree it is a classic name. I wonder if they will call her Sera?

  3. Anastasia Beaverhausen says:

I cannot stop laughing. It is the last thing I would expect from them. Just awful, IMHO.

  4. Bonnie Parker says:

I really don’t like Seraphina. Too long, too weird.
But I do like Rose and especially Elizabeth.
IMO, Elizabeth Seraphina Rose would have been better.

  5. Anonymous says:

how do you pernounce it exactly? not crazy about it, but congrats to them…

  6. Uptown Girl says:

Finally a name! I like it. It’s different without being “out there”. Yeah, you know if they call her Sera that is also her initials S.E.R.A!

  7. lovebug66 says:

That would be a good combo! :D

  8. Sporky says:

Sera was also the name of the hooker in “Leaving Las Vegas”. Anyway, I do like Seraphina, it’s cute.

  9. Bernadetteoc says:

Thanks to my daughters, whenever I hear Seraphina I always think of the cat in Barbie Princess and the Pauper lol It’s not my favorite but definitely not as bad as some celebrities come up with.

  11. Polly says:

    Sarah-fee-nuh. Hope that helps :)

  12. momster says:

THAT’S why it sounded familiar! I wonder if Violet had a hand in choosing the name :)

  13. katgib13 says:

That’s my thought exactly! It’s not so weird you cringe, but it’s not a name you hear everyday. I really like it.

  14. Anonymous says:

FINALLY!!! I just wanted an answer, been checking everyday since they had her for her name. I can sleep tonight. It’s cute though. Kinda like the nickname “Phina” better :o )

  15. Anonymous says:

unusual- but cute and classic. good job jen and ben. im sure violet had a hand in naming her… thats what big sisters are for.

  17. Callie says:

I had the SAME thought! My daughter is just a little younger than Violet and she LOVES that movie. I cant really argue with the name choice, my 7 year old helped name my second daughter… and we named her Amelia and call her… Mia. Im sure everyone with girls knows where that comes from.

  18. poetstar says:

    Actually it is S.R.E.A

  19. MaryEllenB says:

Well..it’s not bad although I was just thinking that I hope she doesn’t copy the British comedy show “Keeping Up Appearances”. In the show the main character is named Hyacinth Bucket (which she likes people to pronounce Bouquet) and she has three sisters named Daisy, Rose and Violet. They are all a little wacky. At least Rose is her middle name.

    TOOOOO LOOONG! Celebrities are retarded!

  21. switchstance5 says:

Wow, this girl is going to have a hard time explaining to her first grade teacher just exactly how to spell her name :P haha

    Sarafina….wasn’t that a musical???

  23. Anonymous says:

Lily Victoria would have been a lovely name a one that complements Violet Anne. Oh well.

  24. Jan says:

I love it. I was thinking the initals were SERA as well ( if they do minor rearranging ). Very cute.

  25. Ivy says:

I usually like names like this, but for some reason, I can’t say I like it here. It’s a bit of a mouthful.

Maybe I just think it sounds strange with the last name Affleck. Seraphina Affleck. I just don’t like the way those words flow together. I was kind of hoping they’d pick another flower!

And what’s with famous people giving their children three names?

  26. Claire34 says:

The middle names are cute, but Seraphina: not so much. I’m sure they’ll call the kid Sera, which happens to be her initials (S.E.R.A). Someone has too much time on her hands, and Jen, you’re trying waaaay too hard to be cool.

  27. gavintiegirl says:

Seraphina is lovely, pretty, and not crazy sounding. Nice job DareDevil and Electra, DOH! Ben and Jen. But I have one question, why three names? Overall, lovely names, but Seraphina Elizabeth Affleck would have been fine too. What’s up with the 3rd flower related names this week. Is it like some celebrity master plan to have all their girls with flower names? *rolls eyes*

  28. elemarty says:

    Uhm i don’t like it..

  29. dieselfire says:

I love the name Seraphina. I had a friend in high school with almost the same name (Seraphina Rose) and she was and still is a lovely lady. Congrats to the Afflecks!

  30. momster says:

    LOL!

  31. momster says:

Non-famous people give their kids 3 names, too.

  32. obsdwithino says:

Serephina is lovely. But what is with the two middle names. Seems to be a trend lately.

  33. Anonymous123 says:

Serephina is ok – not crazy about it. I just don’t like it with the last name Affleck – it doesn’t flow well.

  34. lara jane says:

Ha! My son is almost 9 and he loves those movies (and Ella Enchanted, too). He finally admitted he has a crush on Anne Hathaway. It’s kinda cool that he likes her since he was named after a Shakespeare character. :)

  35. exposition says:

Seraphina. It’s a nice name. There is a charachter in the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman called Serafina Pekkala. She was a good witch, and i LOVED that series of books, so I like the name.

  36. Polly says:

I thought of that too! I frickin love that show!

  37. Anonymous says:

i don’t like seraphina, it’s an odd name. i do like rose elizabeth.

  38. gia says:

I am a fan of the name Violet, but Seraphina i do not like…it seems to have some good meanings behind it & there is even a Saint Seraphina I believe, but its not for me.

  39. Mistyblue says:

I think it’s beautiful and classic, I love it.

  40. lovebug66 says:

I love the name Seraphina. It goes well with Violet. Two beautiful names!! :o )

  41. Anonymous says:

Gorgeous name! It comes from Seraphin which in the bible is a little angel.
But such a long name for such a little girl…I guess it’ll fit better when she’ll be a little older.

  42. momster says:

I like it! Seraphina is a beautiful and old fashioned name, like Violet. I wonder if they will call her Rose, though… Anyone remember Violet’s full name?

  43. momster says:

Nevermind, it’s Violet Anne (same middle name as Jennifer)….

  44. Amy says:

    Violet Anne

  45. Amy says:

I like it for them. It’s not my taste, but I don’t not like it.

  46. Anonymous says:

Well, in french Seraphine means beeing cheap….

  47. rowis says:

Seraphine doesn’t mean cheap literally. It’s actually a character from a novel who was very cheap and whose name is Seraphin.

  48. dyinggiraffe says:

    i like it.

  49. Anonymous says:

No, it doesn’t mean cheap literally but Scrooge doesn’t mean Christmas-hater literally in English, either and it also is a character’s name but what do you call someone when they aren’t in the Christmas spirit? A scrooge!
