Mariah Carey Treats Nick Cannon Like An Assistant

Mariah Carey Treats Nick Cannon Like An Assistant

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon should still be in that honeymoon stage of first year wedded bliss. However, onlookers who saw the couple at Barack Obama's swearing in ceremony said that the pair seemed more like they had a working relationship.

"Nick looked more like an assistant than her husband," says an
onlooker. "He walked next to her, making sure that she was okay. He
wouldn't leave her side."

And a few days before that they were at Sundance together.

"Everywhere Mariah went, there was Nick," one Sundance source tells OK!. "He was opening doors for her, carrying things for her."

Couldn't that just mean he cares for her and wants to help her? And, let's be honest here, all relationships are not created equally. There's not always the perfect balance of power, right? You kind of have to wonder if her being such a major superstar AND significantly older plays into things.

I know it's pathetic but I still don't buy into their marriage being real. she was always SUPER secretive about her relationships and then all of the sudden she's totally sharing everything? Just doesn't add up to anythign more than publicity if you ask me. ;) So, I believe the stories that she treats him like an assistant.

you are ridiculous and should really do your research on people before you open your mouth to talk about them. furthermore, it's apparant that you've never had a good relationship because you can't recognize when a couple just goes well together and obviously cares about each other and shows it by doing things for each other. have you ever seen the photo of mariah opening the door for nick?? or how about the one where she holds the umbrella for them both??? and who asked you in the first place (if you ask me)??

"research on people"?? It's a celeb GOSSIP site, not CNN or the like. It's just chitchat with others who love to love & hate celebs together. ;) Did you do your research on ME to be able to say that I've never had a good relationship? You are taking this way too seriously and personally.

True or not, what do people expect? Him to smack her around like a worthless huzzy?

i agree. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. no matter how Nick treats Mariah or vice versa, it will be criticized.

Been married 4 years and my husband ALWAYS opens the car door for me AND he carries heavy bags for me. Doesn't make him my assistant. I can't say that for a lot of other men. Though maybe it's because his parents taught him well and he has respect for women. What Nick can't be the same???

I think a lot of significant others do "assistant-like" things for their loved ones, but these two really don't strike me as doing it out of love. However, who knows how things are behind closed doors? Maybe he DOES smack her around then! LOL....I know....it's Mariah, there's no way that would happen....

OH JESUS these people just have to have something to talk about this couple!! Who even cares? They both did great at the ball last night, and everything they described Nick doing is what he's SUPPOSED to do as a husband!! Apparently whomever wrote this article doesn't have a very good relationship or they can't recognize one when they see it. People should just leave Mariah and Nick alone and let them be happy which they are!!

SOME ONE PLEASE TELL MJ SHE LOOKING GROSS, any one. the next time you come across her ...just yell it out. say, "HEY MARIAH .. YOU LOOK LIKE A WOMAN WHO'S IS REACHING , FOR WHAT I HAVEN'T A CLUE, BECAUSE I'M SURPRISED YOU CAN STILL REACH FOR ANYTHING IN THAT OLD AND OUT OF SHAPE DILAPIDATED BODY"She just doesn't look a woman who is in great shape. she looks like she's had a few kids under, over and around that belt line. who are we kidding folks? she reminds me of those 60yrs old women who still think they got something to flaunt. PLEASE STOP HER FROM DRESSING LIKE SHE'S A 20YR OLD

Sounds like the perfect husband to me!!

Anonymous Anonymous said:

exactly..that is what husband generally does I think...although I'm not married I would think a husband would treat his wife like a queen. I guess some women are not used to being treated like that. The norm for them is to be slapped around and ordered around.

Hey Vera - I was at the Neighborhood ball last night in DC, where Nick Cannon was MCing and Mariah was performing. He played a few of her songs before and after the televised event. Mariah went and sat in his DJ booth with him a few times later on in the evening and they seemed really cute (and smooched a little, too). Also, Mariah is GORGEOUS in person - she looked stunning last night.

Other highlights from the night: Faith Hill looked great and was really friendly and interactive with the audience, Mary J. Blige's performance was amazing and she has an amazing figure, and Russell Simmons and a date showed up to the event as an attendeee later on and posed for pictures with fans. Obviously the Obamas were so sweet and funny during their dances. It was great that they got so many celebs to join them for the event.

I don't totally buy into it either. The whole thing seemed kind of strange from the beginning. But then there are other Hollywood marriages I don't buy into either.

I think its nice that he does that stuff for her. If he does things like that for her he's her assistant, if he doesn't hes a horrible husband. Cant win. Also, Id like to add that just because they've been married under a year doesnt mean they are still in the honeymoon phase. Ive been married under a year and we are so happy but I wouldnt say we are still in that phase. I think it depends on how long you know the person, how great planning your wedding is and your general attitude towards life.

I give it a couple more months and then they'll both be sick of each other. Being with someone 24/7 can be a bit suffocating : )

This is a stupid story: making sure she's okay, opening doors, carrying things for her. How is this being an assistant when this is what a lot of boyfriends/husbands do?
