Beyonce Was Overwhelmed By Inauguration

Beyonce Was Overwhelmed By Inauguration

"I can’t even describe to you how I felt. I’m actually right now fighting back tears because it’s just so emotional. I’m just so proud of my country.

This man was born for this. And he was born to lead us, and I just feel so inspired and so proud. I’m sorry, I’m so embarrassed. I’m just so lucky to be a part of this history.

It’s probably the most important day of my life, and I’m so grateful."

"Honestly, of course, I’ve voted before, but I’ve never really watched the ceremonies. This is my first time being a part of it, and I’m here, and I’m singing … I’m so overwhelmed, you know. I have chills. He makes me want to be smarter; he makes me want to be more involved."

-- Beyonce

That last sentence gave me goosebumps.

what is her ugly face doing in president obama's inaguration , she and all her family includy j-z are republicans, i guess they go with flow anything for publicity just like brangelina, it should have been jennifer hudson instead.

im sorry, but i dont believe a word she says. everything she says is for publicity sake....she thought this would sound good, but i'm sure she won't be making any changes to her life.

i think celebrities should listen to Obama and start 'spreading the wealth'. I could use a little piece of the pie.

I, like sweet kiddo, am from Canada and we definitely all feel the impact and emotion of what is going on in the States right now. The Canadian company I work for had a celebratory luncheon and we watched the ceremony in our boardroom. We are all truly rooting for the US right now. What promise your country has after many uncertain years. It isn't going to be quick or easy but you're headed in a wonderful direction!

I second what osdwithino said. Thanks, guys! As for Beyonce, this was the most important day of her life? What about her wedding day?

You know I don't care if it was scripted or not... for her own publicity or not... but I'd much rather hear celebrities talk like this than babble on and on about their own drivel that means nothing at all. This is at least rather inspiring.

The spreading the wealth thing? I don't think celebrities need to give me something they earned..nor anyone else...but what I do need is the opportunity to earn for MYSELF. That's what true spreading the wealth means...opportunities that "spread" the financial benefits, the ability to be paid a working, decent wage for your efforts, the peace to afford housing, insurance, niceties for your family and you, and the ability to share with others not as fortunate. That is sharing the wealth. To accomplish that will take an overhaul of who gets what bennies, who gets to keep a bit more, spread more evenly and honestly (!), a generation of jobs and a restructuring of the health care system, as it is strangling the common man. No monkey.

As to Beyonce...she was not the appropriate choice for that honor...Etta doesn't sing as well anymore but she owns that song..should have been a more venerated person. But, B is the shit (or so they say) right now and the Obama girls lurve her...but she, when stripped down to bare vocal talent and charisma, is not all that. YMMV

But, good for her, I guess. It was an awesome opportunity. I'm just disappointed they didn't have her sing ALL the songs, at ALL the balls, like the Oscars. She could have even done it in French! What a missed opportunity.<>

So, what's the story of her being a major diva the night before the inaugeration? Anybody else read that? She was going to some function and the streets were blocked off for safety, and she refused to walk 4 blocks. The police wouldn't do anything for her but eventually the secret service drove her the 4 blocks. It was a big fuss.

I can't believe it! Hope he pays my taxes too and takes care of my kids!

Obama, save uuuuus! We apparently can't do it ourselves!
All hail the fucking illuminati!

I thought she did a respectable job singing the song, but they should've had Etta sing it. It's her song. She's still alive and kickin' and out there touring and recording. Why get the knock off Louis Vuitton, when you can have the real one? Oh well, I'm a blues purist, so I'll always take Etta over Beyonce anyday of the week. LOL. She did good though. Good for her.

"I’m just so proud of my country."--We've voted before, it's part of the process.

"This man was born for this. And he was born to lead us" --No, people voted and that's how be became President.

"He makes me want to be smarter; he makes me want to be more involved."--Smarter? Too easy! More involved? What stopped you from being more involved or smarter before? It sounds as though her life was completely miserable or as though she was held down/oppressed and couldn't be more involved or smarter.

That moment when the music started and President Obama and Michelle started to dance... that gave me goosebumps. I am so pleased for the US right now (I'm British), that the people voted him in, that he gave so much to the presidential race to become president. He will change the country, change my country and he will change the world for the better! Look what your last idiot president did... he changed it all- but for worse! Thank God Obama is in. He is smart, funny and quite hot!

I think he will get everybody to think differently, not only in the US- but around the world. I understand what Beyonce says- it was a fantasic moment to do that. She was a part of that moment- regardless of what everybody wants to think. If she wants to get more involved and be smarter, then good for her. At least she is saying she wants to do something with her life- at least she goes and earns a living! Look at stupid Paris Hilton. She gives womenkind a bad name.

Ya know what I regret? I regret that I didn't take my son out of school and stay home and watch every minute of coverage with him. It was such a memorable day ... and a happy day! I wish I would have shared it together with him. Even Canadians had luncheons at work to celebrate. I can tell you we had no such celebration here where I work. Although we did have access to the coverage in our conference rooms. It should have been a national holiday! We (this world) have had tremendous hardships for so long. I've seen pictures of people watching the Inauguration all over this world. Inspiring. And it makes me smile and cry at the same time! President Obama truly is a light at then end of a long dark tunnel for Americans.. even the one's who won't admit it!

I don't usually care for Beyonce but you can tell she was about to cry while she was singing the song. You could tell she was emotional.

Suuuuuuure she voted before...

I'm watching all this from across the globe and cannot believe how a whole country is so hypnotized. You'd think that the US was an enslaved nation before Obama came and saved the day! "He came to free us!" W.T.F?! Wake up people!!!

Everything has a 'hypnotized' or mesmerized sense about it. Beyonce, "Makes me want to be smarter." Encouraged, that's good. Become emotionally intelligent so you can be in control or your hypnotized brain.
