Have you noticed anything different about superstar Tom Cruise? I noticed that he seems to have been trying to "make amends" of sorts, such as when he appeared on The Today Show with Matt Lauer. But according to "insiders," Valkyrie publicists have been on a mission to improve Tom's image, with the "No. 1 priority [of] [w]inning back Tom's female fans!"
You won't hear Tom lecturing any talk show hosts (think: Matt Lauer!)
about Scientology from now on. Also, to be more connected to the
audience, he will stop wearing sunglasses on the red carpet, an insider
tells Star. His PR team has also nixed showing up at premieres in fancy cars. 'They don't want him to seem arrogant during the recession!' "

He lost me at hello. Jerry Maguire was the last movie of his that I saw before he went off the deep end spewing his $cientology crap all over the place. I will not support any of his films, and the same goes for anyone else that I am aware of that is into the cult. Its a shame that Katie Holmes does not have a spine and allowed herself to get sucked in.

I am sure it will help to get back his true fans, but he has already lost me with his weirdness and there is no getting me back. I think he is a nutjob. He had no business talking to Brooke like that. Not only was he criticizing her but also his fans who had gone through the same thing. Honestly, with the exception of a few people who will remember like above, I think most of the public go with whatever "image" these stars want to present. People are so fooled by looks and photographs and how people act on the red carpet. Our society is so superficial. So I'd say within a few years time, this approach would work.

He's bigger than ever. The smears by the few cowards online just backfires. He got nominated for the Globe and his Valkyrie movie is a big hit in the U.S. and will set to conquer worldwide. That's huge considering WW-2 genres dont appeal so much to the masses.

It STILL hasn't hit over 100 mil mark in the U.S. and it made 13.2 mil over seas last weekend. I don't think that would CONQUER Katie's spending habits let alone the world.

That proverb " you know a good man by the company he keeps" says a lot about Cruise with his good friends Paul Newman,Ben Stiller,Jay Leno,Beckham and Will Smith. He's also a class act and gracious all around unlike the real jerks like Tobey Maguire,Val Kilmer,Brolin and Crowe fighting,Joaquin Phoenix too much drugs and many fellow druggies ruining their lives and Christian Bale's more true colors coming out. Many new online vids of him on TMZ,IMDB and x17online being a jerk to his fans and photogs is a real turn off.

He's a good actor. No matter how wacky his personal life seems, his acting is still top-notch.
I have always followed most of his films minus Stanley Kubrick and Vanilla Sky. He never fails to entertain and sure he is hot and talented but what strikes me most is how he treats his fans so well and even the paps that are animals. These days im more obssessed with him and his movies especially with the help of his wonderful women in his life Katie and Suri.

I think his hey-day is w-a-y over. There's too many up and rising stars to take his place. He made a complete fool of himself by showing the "real Tom" and he's lost way too much credibility. In addition, marrying someone young enough to be his daughter and trying to make a non-talent into a star is totally lame on his part.

Tom Cruise has always seemed like a genuinely nice man. I dont think he controls Katie if anything he indulges her with her very expensive shopping habit. When he is holding her hand he is not leading her around he is being affectionate. The whole Brooke Shields thing was unfortunate, but other than that its his life. He should just concentrate on making good movies, because there are a lot of celebs who are jerks and say crazy things but still have successful careers (Mel Gibson, Kanye West, Jon Voight, Vince Vaughn, Mario Lopez etc)

Tom DOES look like hes always dragging the wife around. If he was "protecting" her he would be standing much closer with his arms around her, not 5 feet in front where she can be grabbed at any time. Its not hard to read that body language. As for his PR image. Yes I think it will work and people will forget eventually. PR relations is good and they get paid a lot because it works ! Just look at Brit Brit now. As for me - nope I cant get over the Scientology thing no matter how I try, so he will never be a movie draw to me and I will never follow either him or the wife. My money will stay in my wallet instead of lining the coffers of some "cult".

I'm not a fan never was but the one thing I can say about him... He tries to tell his ahole fans. He has "3" kids not 1. Suri isn't his only kid Conner and Isabella are his kids too. But these jackas*es (tom's fans) only care about Suri. He seem to be a good father. So I'll give him that. I've paid for only one Tom Cruise movie in my life. And I can't see myself ever paying for another one.

I don't understand why you can't think someone is a good actor/musician/artist just because they're Scientologists.
