Angelina Jolie IS Lara Croft! How can the franchise go on without her? The third film is in talks right now and none other than Angelina Jolie look-alike, Megan Fox, has been tapped for the lead role.
Warner Bros. has confirmed plans to relaunch”and completely overhaul the hot-pants-wearing, artifact-collecting Lara Croft: Tomb Raider franchise, with the first major casualty being Jolie.
While producers say an actress likely won’t be cast until a writer and director have signed on, Fox has emerged as the frontrunner replacement.
Megan does have a similar kick-butt attitude, so maybe we’ll all end up loving her in the part, who knows. Do you think she’s the best choice to replace Angelina as Lara?

If they want to continue the franchise, replacing Angelina would be a smart move. There is no way she can pull of that role today. She looks nothing like she used to and that is a shame. Ugh, I can’t imagine looking at that bag of bones in a bikini. Anon 2:08 that movie sucked with her. PERIOD. I really hope that Megan can do a better british accent. I was rolling on the floor laughing at Angelina and her poor, very very poor, attempt to do it. I felt embrassed for her. They could have at least found someone who was british or at least someone who could pull of the accent. If Megan Fox replaces her, I just might go see it. I am slowly becoming a fan of hers. They can’t go wrong with Shannyn Sossamon either. She may be the better choice.
Accept the real thing, don’t live in denial OK. Megan as Lara Croft? Bluek! She was horrible to play alongside Shea in Transformer, now she wants to tackle a full-on super hero roll….Warner is flushing down their money on this one! Shannyn Sossamon is my favourite. When she first appeared in A Knight’s Tale, everyone (especially the media) branded her as the next Angelina Jolie. But Shannyn is unique & very different from Angie. She won’t make a good action hero however…. Shannyn’s strength lies in comedy & horror-flick movies. Pommy accent? Angie did the British proud…I bet u pricked yourself while rolling on the floor laughing…
She will continue to be constantly compared to AJ if she takes on the role of Lara Croft, but maybe that’s what she wanted all along…..
it would be hard to come into a role that is so solidly known to be done by someone else. Career wise I wouldn’t pick it up as its the third one – they are never as good. PR wise – good call as the attention and comparison will do her good. Great visual choice for a replacement – Fox.
Although I’m not a fan of Megan Fox, I think she’ll do great as Lara Croft. She was a good choice to keep the movies flowing.

I wouldn’t see the movie if it was megan fox. I don’t think she can do anything but look pretty and i doubt she’ll be able to pull off any sort of accent. I hope angelina jolie signs on to do this..
I agree with you. Some people are so eager to replace another actor it’s ridiculous. Can anyone ever replaced Elvis, Marilyn, Lennon, Michael etc. ? Of course not because each is unique & carries different charisma & star quality! My verdict is no one can takes over Angie’s pull-off of Lara. This franchise can just end it without Angie. They still have Harrison Ford for Indiana Jones…& the last instalment was still a blast. NEVER a movie will make it without it’s original star.

I actually hope Megan doesn’t do it. She’s constantly compared to Angelina and it’ll just cement that if she does “Angelina’s” role in Lara Croft.
I think that Megan is a suitable replacement. Afterall, she is about 10 yrs younger than Angelina. Angelina is too busy making babies right now…I hope that the rumors of Megan’s boyfriend beating her up are FALSE!

this is just a fact, fox looks nothing like jolie. perhaps a trailer trash version. while angelina tries too hard for dramas and is simply below average, she was perfect for lara croft role. megan meanwhile tries too hard be angelina every step of the way. on a scale of 1 to 5 i give fox ‘-10′ just for not having her own individuality.
Shannyn Sossamon would be a much better fit! Megan kind of bugs, I think she comes across as extremely arrogant and isn’t that great of an actress, either.
I think Ange has outgrown her Lara Croft days. Megan seems like an ideal replacement.

Fox tries every bit to look so much like her (Angelina) is insane! i know! she has similarities to angelina but the girl poses like her, moves like her, act so much like her, in definite is too caught up on the angelina look alike “thing” i will really like to see someone more original and more dominant play that role ( just saying

When I say right now “James Bond”…you have no case. Sorry doll, but people can be replaced. And once people age and have kids…Hollywood doesn’t find use for them in these “hot & sexy” roles
James Bond 007 is an agent with the license to kill, it’s not a ‘fixed’ person, meaning they (the 007 agency can hire anyone & the alter ego’s name is James Bond. But Lara Croft is a fixed person, the same Lady who grew up in Croft Manor. They still get Harrison Ford to play Indiana Jones. But look at Batman’s instalments…Sorry to say, by hook or by crook, when an exemplary actress has cemented a role & that role is akin to her (such as the case of Angelina playing Lara) it is irreplaceable!

Because she had to color her hair black, to match Jolie, and her hairline is not as dence in front. But the color is too dark.

I think she is a good replacement, but I don’t like that Angie is not going to be in the next movie. I will probably wait and rent this one if Angie is replaced.
If there needs to be a replacement, either Megan or Shannyn Sossamon would be a good one. They both have the same look and might be able to pull it off…

I am glad they are replacing Angelina. She is way to haggard looking these days to pull of this part. Wanted proved that in my opinion. Besides after each kid she says she is taking a year off and she never does. Although I don’t care for Megan Fox really she is similiar in attitude and appearance to Angelina (maybe why I don’t care for her) so she would be a perfect replacement

I think she’d be a good choice. And I like the idea of Shannon as well, however, I don’t think she has that kick ass attitude that Megan and Angelina both have. To me shannon is great in romantic comedies and sometimes horror movies but not really action.
I know nothing of Shannyn Sossamon but looking at her pics she truly captures Joliesque essence. Not physical looks, but the essence. She is probably very similar is some characteristics, not because she tries to look like Jolie but because she simply has that essence of edgy woman. Fox is just an impostor.

Jolie’s facial features are spread evenly throughout her face. Her face is fairly androgenous. Megan’s features are all concentrated between her eyes and eyebrows and she has more feminine apeal. They look nothing alike. Jolie is a dark figure naturally, Megan is just a regular girl wanting to look like someone else. Megan might act edgy but she IS NOT edgy by her personality. Megan looks like Carmen Electra’s sister.
Angie has that beautiful face it is unique. I think megan is sexy but who knows she might just pull it she seems she wants to be so bad like angie.
Actually, I think it is a fab ideal…happens alot when stars don’t want to be in movie sequels because of the money or whatever…meagan will be fine…she’s crazy hot anyway…dunno…don’t really feel strongly about this issue…and it’s lara croft people…the remake of a cartoon/game…we are not talking about serious acting or oscar stuff…just stunts
