What Won’t Be In The Sex And The City Sequel

Although the four main ladies of Sex and the City have verbally agreed to return, contracts are still being negotiated.  Despite that fact, writer and director Michael Patrick Harris is already planning the story: specifically, what will not happen in the sequel.

In the last movie, I thought [the fans] wanted to see an
epic and violently tragic love story
, and drama, but I don’t think you go to that candy store twice,’ the film’s writer and director, Michael Patrick King, said last night during a Writers Guild panel discussion in L.A. ‘You can’t try to do what you did already, so you come up with a different
tone that you like.’ “

So no Carrie being left at the altar.

But this statement kind of surprises me.  Were you looking for “an epic and violently tragic love story” for the first Sex and the City movie?

Unfortunately, Michael didn’t spill any info on what would be in the movie.  I guess we have to take what we can get at this point, since the movie may not have even been written yet!

It wasn’t what I was LOOKING for per se, but it’s kind of what I expected since Carrie and Big’s relationship wasn’t always easy.
