Veronica Mars Movie May Happen

Veronica Mars Movie May Happen

... at least it will if creator Rob Thomas has his way.  He told EW.com's Michael Ausiello that he's getting his pitch ready (a pitch is when someone meets with producers and studio executives to discuss a project before actually writing a script).

'I'm preparing the pitch now -- literally now,' Mars' main man,
Rob Thomas, told [Michael Ausiello] this morning. 'I hope to go in and talk to
[executive producer] Joel Silver and [Warner Bros.] in the next week or
two to see if they're interested.' "

So Michael Ausiello has a request for all of you Veronica Mars fans out there: "pray, pray hard.  And if you don't, start..."  Rob made it clear, however, that even if his pitch goes well, there's still a lot that has to happen before a movie becomes a reality.

First up is figuring out what the story would be, apart from determining that Veronica (played by Kristen Bell) would be solving the crime as a college student rather than an FBI agent.

'I haven't figured it out yet,' he says of the final act. 'That's what
I'm working on now. It's close. A few key details left to solve.

'I have some fear that Veronica Mars fans believe that the
chief hurdle in getting the movie made is my writing it,' Thomas
confesses. 'Unfortunately, that's only one of several hurdles. I'm
going to give it my best shot and let the chips fall where they may.' "

The other hurdles include the studio looking at the business aspect of it, making deals with Rob and the cast, etc., so even if there will be a Veronica Mars movie, it sounds like you shouldn't hold your breath.

Sounds like Kristen, the potential star, is staying as far away from the process as possible.

'Kristen [Bell] will not be joining me,'
he says. 'I'm sure she has no desire to see how the sausage is made.' "

I guess she focuses on the acting, and hey, who can blame her?

But will you be one of the people praying?  Would you like to see a Veronica Mars movie?

I would go to any movie with Kristen in it. I even went to see fanboys this past weekend. I was so sad when her Heroes character was killed off. There was also no real closure for the tv show Veronica Mars.
