Hilary Duff Defends What She Said About Faye Dunaway

I'm so used to celebrities retracting their statements and then issuing apologies that I was actually surprised to hear of Hilary Duff defending the things she said about Faye Dunaway. In case you have a short memory, first Faye said that Hilary wasn't a real actress then Hilary responded by saying that none of her fans know how Faye is and criticized Faye's looks.
Hilary commented on the feud,
"She started acting way later than I did so I think I have time to grow
and grow with each project," she says. "I am learning and work hard at
my craft.It's not OK for people to take stabs at you and to say mean things for no reason."
It's on now! I'm ready for Faye's next quote. :)

Faye is right about Hilary not being a real actress but she shouldn't have said it out loud. As for Hilary, honey, you're never going to be as big a star for as long as Faye Dunaway has. NO WIRE HANGERS EVER!

Hilary duff sucks, period. Faye had every right to say something. She was in the ORIGINAL bonnie and clyde, and she just commented on the actors of the remake...SO SHE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO HER OPINION.
I love Hilary Duff, but honestly she appears as if she actually doesn't know she is not that good at acting. And maybe there's no reason to be mean, but Faye Dunaway is right when she said she's not a real actress, came across as arrogant but she's right. Wake up Hilary

you know, Hilary was really good at Lizzie McGuire. She was the PERFECT girl for that role. But everything else she has done is just not working at all. She's not a versatile actress which means she can only really play one part - and that part was the character Lizzie McGuire. When another role comes along like that one then she'll excel again.
But either way Faye really was too harsh and revealed that she really is kind of like a back stabbing old broad who is bitter about anyone reliving her glory days for her. I bet it was hurtful for Hilary to hear that. She's obviously had lots of success in the industry which warrants some credit.

I can't believe Hilary is defending what she said about Faye! What Faye said about her is fact. She's not saying Hilary's a bad actress because she's intimidated by her; she's making a point that she'd rather have a legitimate actress play her role in Bonnie and Clyde. Hilary, really... do you honestly think you're going to be an Oscar winner? You're a Disney puppet princess and when they're through with you you will no longer have a career...

Yeah, Faye could have easily meant a "real" actress as someone who is devoted to the craft & is well known for acting...Hilary's skin seems too thin for Hollywood & her attacking Faye's looks only made her seem even more immature & most of all insecure.

Why should Hilary have to get used to something that is wrong? No one should be allowed to act that way even if they ARE in Hollywood. What ever happend to standing up for something? Hilary's not letting Faye walk all over her.

I agree with Gia - Hilary did come off as being very immature when she first responded to Faye's statement. And like Kikii said, Hilary should have said what she said this time around as her original response. I realize that Hilary's young but she's a young woman, not a tween anymore and she's old enough to know better.

This is what she should've responded with in the first place. Her comments about Faye Dunaway's appearance were immature. I'm on Team Hilary though..
regardless of her being younger than Faye when she started acting, Hilary is nowhere near ready to take on the role of Bonnie in Bonnie & Clyde. yes Hilary, everyone has to start somewhere, but you know where actors don't start: by recreating iconic, oscar winning performances... nevermind that it shouldn't even be remade, it shouldn't be remade by someone who is still figuring out how to "act."
