Usher's Wife Put Into Induced Coma After Plastic Surgery Complication
R&B singer Usher was forced to cancel his performance at Clive Davis' Grammy party (the same one Rihanna and Chris Brown were photographed at before their alleged altercation) in order to head to Brazil. Reportedly, his wife, Tameka Foster, suffered complications during a surgery procedure. Apparently, the complications were pretty severe.
Foster was rushed to the hospital's intensive care unit last Friday
after going into cardiac and respiratory arrest during a liposuction
procedure.The life-threatening condition reportedly came on as the R&B star's wife was being anesthetized.
According to G1, doctors at the hospital placed Raymond in an
induced coma for 24 hours to stabilize her. She is currently in
recovery.Dr. Gabriel E. Hunt Jr., a neurosurgeon from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, is said to be down in São Paulo to lead Foster's care."
It sounds extremely serious if Tameka needs a neurosurgeon. And I have to admit, I'm pretty shocked a doctor would even perform liposuction since Tameka just gave birth in December!
Hopefully Tameka will make a full recovery.

Horrible! I hope she can recover fully. It surprises me that she would go for a procedure out of the States. Surely the extra cash for a safe job at home would be better than going someplace questionable that might be a little cheaper and out of the glare of the tabloids. I assume she went to Brazil not because it was cheaper, but because a doctor in North America wouldn't do it. That's generally why people travel abroad for plastic surgery.
I agree with Polly. The answer that makes the most sense is that she could not get a doctor in North America to perform the procedure, so she searched abroad. I hope she can take away from it a lesson that being a mother is more important than being a perfectly engineered and sculpted piece of meat. She is very lucky to still have her life.
I wonder what she wanted done that a doctor in NA would not do? the reason people travel to the Dominican Republic and Brazil because is cheaper. Tameka is desperate to keep the sexy Usher's attention, she's birth four or five kids, so I guess her body looks like crap.

Yes, for the "every day" people, going to Brazil for plastic surgiry is much cheaper, but I don't think money was a factor for Usher's wife. Google Ivo Pintangy and you will find out he is THE WORLD best doctor. He doe have a charity work, like that smile foundation.... where under privilage children all over the world can have work done, not for vanity but for necessity.

It is cheaper in Brazil to get work done. Plus the doctors there are so hard up for money they put the poor people of the slums of Brazil on payment plans if they want to get work done also. Plus once you have your baby, there is a certain amount of time you need to wait. That is why the doctors here would not do the lipo, it was too early yet. But the ones in Brazil, of course they will do anything. They just want to get paid.

Celebrities don't go to other countries for plastic surgery because it's cheaper but because of privacy. If she went in the United States everybody would know. If she hadn't had complications, nobody probably would have known about it. Also people die from cosmetic surgery all of the time in the USA. Kanye West's mother died from cosmetic surgery.
its not like it wouldn't be obvious anyway that she had plastic surgery done. there are HIPAA laws in the US that don't allow your medical info to be told to anyone. I believe she went to Brazil to do it before the "allowed" time. she just recently had a baby and i'm sure no doc in the US would lipo her so soon after. From what we're reading, if she did have a reaction to anesthesia, then she'd have had the same reaction here in the US too. Some people react severely to general anesthesia and can even die from it. Maybe the Neurosurgeon was involved in her care b/c she lacked oxygen to her brain for some time while under cardiac and respiratory arrest. I do wish her a speedy recovery.
She should be ashamed. Usher obviously loves her. Why is she doing this to herself? Ugh. She looks good for her age and after having 5 babies. If and when she recovers she needs to count her blessings.

WTF is wrong with these women? Just because you have money doesn't mean that you should throw it away on freaking plastic surgery! How about hitting the gym instead? Pay for a personal trainer and a gym membership... you won't get seriously hurt or lose your life that way and you will look fabulous and natural... a lot better than after surgery. Idiots.
