Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Starter Wife with Debra Messing has just been canceled, even though the show did really well. It earned 10 Emmy nominations and the mini-series had 5 million viewers. Not bad! But, for the regular season they averaged 2.4 million viewers and episode, which wasn’t enough for USA to keep them on the schedule.
Who will be sad to see this one go? I can’t say I’ve ever watched it, but I do love Debra Messing. She’s a great actress and I’m sure she’ll find something else to keep her busy in no time!
I didn’t even know she was back on TV. Ah well.
NOOOOO! I love that show. Maybe they’ll put it on DVD.

I LOVED THIS SHOW!! So many of my favorite shows are getting the axe (or get threats about getting the axe). That sucks!

Not FAIR!!!!! This show was fun and humanized Molly. It made it ok to be insecure or over confident. Not too many shows do that. I am really going to miss it.
I really liked her show. I was a bit confused after the start of the second season with so much of the cast change. Molly’s best friend was such a perfect match to Molly’s personality that it was really neat to watch the two of them together. I hated to see this show go under… they’ll leave really dumb show on… these reality shows which are mostly trumped up, and hard to believe.

That was a fun show and she was surprisingly good in it. I’m sorry that they cancelled it.
For some reason I love that dress! Maybe it’s the color or the shiny fabric that makes it looks so good. I -tried- to watch the Starter Wife back when it was a mini-series and I didn’t think it was that great…but thats just me. Im surprised they cancelled it though, seemed to be doing pretty good!***annie***
I LOVED that show – so sad it got cancelled:( I watched the miniseries and was pumped they turned it into a show…. I guess it was kinda losing steam, but it was so cute! Sad…
I LOVED THAT SHOW! I am so sad. The first season was way better than the second becasue it was taken from an actual book. The second season was good, but not great. Still, I loved that show just to see what everyone was wearing. “Molly”, Debra Messing’s character always wore the cutest clothes and carried designer handbags. It was a fun show.
Vera, you are awesome. This is my new favorite gossip site. I too, am completely obsessed with Katie Holmes and her fashion. Suri is so cute, I just wish she would smile more. But with a hundred photogs in your face at 2 years old, I am sure it’s annoying and confusing. I love them tho. Please post every picture you receive of these beautiful people. I dont have anything against her, but I almost stopped watching USA completely because they promoted this show way too much! Every commercial break had an annoyingly long ad for it & it nearly drove me insane.
