Lucie J. Kim filed a lawsuit at L.A. County Superior Court on Wednesday against Miley Cyrus because of the above photo where the singer is seen pulling on her eyes.
According to legal papers obtained by website TMZ, Kim "claims to represent more than one million Asian Pacific Islanders who live in Los Angeles County and is seeking $4,000 - the minimum damages for a civil rights violation - for each of them, which adds up to a whopping $4 billion in total".
Despite her apology, Lucie is prepared to take this all the way. Miley's camp has not come out with a comment just yet.

i watch Cyrus in the internet (the backstage and interview stuff) and she's an idiot, even for her age (just compare her to taylor swift). But that photo is racist. And the amount of coverage she gets.. that photo will definitely do damage. However 4 billion is a joke and doesn't help Asian image or educate people about asians. What should happen is she make an apology or get an education on racism and stop being so damn naive. The lawsuit is just stupid. Please don't make light of the issue. Just because it's socially accepted doesn't make it right. People don't like to be mocked for their features. I don't think it's that hard to understand. If you're not Asian and you think this is no big deal maybe you're not showing enough empathy. This is a big deal to some Asians and you should show some respect. Do you not think an African American portrayed with fat lips and watermelon and chicken is racist? Why not what they are doing? Even if you don't respect the reason people taking offense can you not at least respect peoples' feelings?
That one Asian kid present doesn't make it right. It may be true, and probably is true that these kids are naive to the point that they have had no exposure to racism and they are indeed just having fun. But most of us don't live in Beverly hills or whatever. We live in the real world where racism is very real and in our every day lives. They are sending a message INTENTIONALLY OR NOT, they are saying that discrimination and mockery is OK. That message is WRONG. I make no comment on their character or intentions. The photo is no lie however, it stares at me in the face and it is blatantly racist.

What about the poor guy ACTUALLY in the pic? Does this now mean he has no legal recourse? Does he even care? If this Kim person is actually representing the "more than one million Asian Pacific Islanders who live in Los Angeles County", shouldn't they actually be opening a class action suit? I'm not sure how these legal things work, so can this kind of thing actually be done? I think if Miley is going to continue to represent all the things she wants to get paid to represent, her handlers really need to buckle down. If she doesn't want to do what she is getting paid to do, they need to let her go.

I am not a Miley fan either, as she is too young for me, however I am also not a fan of frivolous lawsuits. If they wanted to be taken seriously then they should have sued for a reasonable amount. Say $25,000. Anyway, I hope after the powers that be have their laugh, they toss it in the circular file.

The difference is Miley is not a comedian or on a satirical show, she is a Disney girl & is supposed to have a clean cut image. She gets paid for it.
I am not defending the person suing, I am just stating a fact. Miley has a reputation to uphold & stuff like this doesnt really fit into the image she is paid to portray. I know she is off the clock in these pics, so she needs to be super careful of cameras being around if she is going to act this way.
