After watching Joaquin Phoenix on The Letterman Show, Ashton Kutcher is not convinced that Joaquin's decision to quit acting and become a rapper is true: despite Joaquin's denials that it's a hoax.
'Is he acting?' Kutcher blogs on his Twitter page, adding that Phoenix's behavior feels 'a little strange.'
'I find it interesting that at the end of the interview, he takes his
glasses off and returns to shake Dave's hand again,' Kutcher writes."
Ashton thought it was odd because the interview itself reportedly appeared awkward. Who saw it?
Believe it or not, Joaquin was on Letterman to promote his new movie, Two Lovers, and the director of the film, James Gray, is "baffled" by his star's behavior. James said it was "obvious" during the filming that Joaquin was tired of acting, but there is apparently concern that Joaquin's behavior will turn people off from wanting to see Two Lovers.
What about you: are you still interested in seeing Two Lovers after seeing Joaquin in action for the last few weeks? Do you think this is all a PR stunt, like Ashton?

i just dont understand WHY he would act the way he is acting. i dont think he is...i think he's on something. why would he just be walking around acting like he is high? it's not cool. and the fact that his brother died from drugs...i think that it's very sad and that he should get himself some help.
Oh, I saw it. On Youtube. Its making its rounds on facebook, too. It definitely could be a stunt or whatever. I hope it is because that means that Joaquin and Dave played their parts excellently. It was funny. I am inclined to think it was a put-on because Joaquin was indignant, but not too much. WHen Paul laughs and him and he turns to him and says something like "are you kidding me." Its the best. I still love him, though, Uber-talented, whatever he is doing.

agreed - i really hope he's acting and it's not some sort of crisis or drugs or mental issue or who knows... would be so sad to see talent like his be wasted.

It's funny cause I was just thinking the same when I saw the video .. he's like 'absent' for the whole interview .. and in the end suddenly comes back to life taking his shades of and shaking hands again .. weird .. I hope it is .. otherwise he really needs to stay away from what he's taking .. please Joaquin !!

I don't get what the Punk is? "Ha Ha! I acted crazy but I wasn't!" Who cares? I hope he's losing it, because if you put that much energy, money and focus into faking it, you are just not that cool.

I can't figure this all out, but I am interested to see what becomes of it. Dave was hilarious regardless and I am hoping it is all a hoax because otherwise I would have to say that something a lot more serious needs to be done. He is so defensive in every interview lately, which to me a sign of drugs, or mental problems, especially in comparison to past appearances. I have never been a big follower of his although I do think he is a good actor. But that video with him falling of the stage says a lot. If he was acting why would he act so stupid.

is he still on it? maybe the past 2 years, the papz and the gossip world (including us) were punked by ashton?!?
No He is not going to back to acting but it is in is contract he has to promote his movie like everybody else.
