Stars React To Chris Brown's Apology

As you can imagine, celebrities' reaction to Chris Brown's apology run the gamut! Not unlike ours, I'd imagine. Here are some reactions.
Gayle King, Oprah Winfrey's best friend, is not having it.
Right now I can't think of anything that makes me support anything that
Chris Brown is saying at this time. And my heart just aches for Rihanna."
Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku seemed to feel the same way.
Any way, shape or form of domestic violence is inexcusable in my book."
Singer Carrie Underwood is more neutral.
I don't think anybody actually knows what happened. I have no advice
because, thank goodness, I've never been in any kind of abusive
situation. You hear a new one every five minutes, and some of them are
getting kind of ridiculous. I really hope everyone will lay off and
just let everybody who's involved figure out everything first."
I'm not sure what's ridiculous, but that's all the quote says.
Jay-Z, however, seems to be most concerned about his protege, Rihanna.
This is a real situation. You have to have compassion for others. Just
imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should
talk about that. I just think we should all support her. She's going
through a tough time. You have to realize she's a young girl, as well.
She's very young."
And others are just trying to support both Chris and Rihanna during a difficult time.
Click on the link below to continue reading.
Actress Nia Long advises prayer for both.
I know both of them well. They're young, and all we can do is pray for them at this point."
Mary J. Blige likes them both.
They're both young and beautiful people, and that's it."
And American Idol winner Ruben Studdard seems to be advocating compassion for Chris while supporting both Chris and Rihanna.
I'm still praying for him. Everybody always has something negative to
say about everything, and I always try to be positive. They've both
made wonderful careers for themselves, and I think they will continue
to do so for the rest of their lives."
I have to admit, just about everything everyone is saying is so true!

Words after the fact are a pretty lousy band aid. Of course he's sorry. His career is in tatters with sponsors dropping like flies or questioning whether they want a man who "allegedly" beats his girlfriend should be shilling their product.
Sorry doesn't cut it. losethatgirl blog

Being young doesn't excuse any kind of violence on women, but at least let's hope he'll correct his behaviour (although I have little hope on this - once an abuser, always an abuser).
It's so funny to me when people say "we don't know what happened". Maybe we don't know what happened cause we weren't there but we know one fact, he hit her and there's no excuse for that. Plus police took a picture and said it looked bad. So abuse happened and there's no excuse for it. How many times do we hear of a someone being abused but nobody intervened until it was too late. Just think about a lot of murder cases on TruTv and Nancy Grace.
Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. How many times a year are there reports of women being killed by their bf/husbands because they stayed in an abusive relationship? His dumb fans are saying crap like, 'she provoked him,' or 'she did or said something to make him go off because he doesn't have a history of violence.' Like, WTH. This is not a damn joke. Nobody can turn someone into a woman beater. That is something inside of them, something they can't control themselves.
Yes! I love how hollywood is trying to stay on the fence... what's the point? He hit her. What else is there to know? LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE GAYLE KING! Oh Gayle.... why aren't there more like you?
Wow Gayle King doesn't mince words does she? Good!
Carrie is an idiot....does it really matter what happened??...he hit her...end of story.
Maybe she hit him too.
each story has 2 sides, idiot woman can be just as abusive and provoking. I am not saying it is justified, but situation might be more complex, everyone has emotions and every one makes mistakes. it is human

It is said she is fond of internet recently. Some of her fans found her on a celebs dating club ‘Rich k iss. com’. She has a personal account there with hot pictures, blog and something about her songs and new album...In her friend circle, some other stars can be found there.
The police came out and said they took pictures of her bruises. They had no problem letting the whole world know that he hit her. If she hit him, I am sure they would have stated that as well. Why would they only tell half of it? If he didn't have anything to hide, why did he run? The lengths people will go through to defend their favorite celebrity is astonishing. I have never been a big fan of either but I have liked a couple of their songs. But, even if I was a big fan, I would never uphold wrong doing. Especially, domestic violence. There is no excuse for him putting her in the hospital. If some man is beating me I will do my best to fight back. I may not be getting anywhere but I will not go down without a fight. Jay-Z knows her personally, and unlike us, he isn't on the outside looking in. He has stated the seriousness of the situation but people still want to play it down for some reason. SMDH.
Carrie's response is the most appropriate.
YEA ME TOO I LIKE CARRIE'S RESSPOSE THE BEST CAUSE NO ONE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AND WHO PROVOKE WHOM AND Gayle King IS SO STUPID FOR WOMAN OF HER AGE TO RESPOND LIKE THAT EVEN A CHILD WOULD NOT GIVE A RESPOSE LIKE THAT , AND SHE'S SO UGLY TOO. HORSE FACE.
OMG!!!! This comment is So ghetto! I LOVE it! Who says something like "only a child would respond like that" and then ends their argument by saying.... "and YOUR UGLY!!!!!" WOW. The person who wrote that is my most favorite uneducated hood rat ever...... is this SALTY???? SALTY? Is that you???? Where have you been? You are so funny. Ha! I'm dying over here
they said she throw his car keys in the bushes and he looked for them but he wasn't able to find them at first and when he complained to why she did that she slapped him in the face couple of times, so we should n't judge before we know about both sides.
and before throwing the car keys in the bushes , the reason she did it because she always checks his messages in his cell and when she find out someone text him she got mad and then throw his car keys in the bushe and then......
.... and then he beat her face in with closed fists and then strangled her unconscious. So it obviously makes sense. That's how adults solve problems. By beating people so bad they go to the hospital.
I am with carrie on this.. noone knows what happened and i think the media has taken too far..The ploice did not come out and talk about her bruises, the media said accroding to police sources implying that someone in the department told them.. who it was has never been stated so i question that..if rihanna was abused, the first statement that her people said was that she was involved in car accident..y lie??? until both come out and talk about what happened i am not going to comment and take sides..and as for gail, she said that there is nothing that chris has said so FAR that makes her take he side..y she taking riri's side over rumors is beyond me.. she should know better after being called GAY by the media yet she is not..until i know the truth, gail in my book can go to hell.. Carrie keep talking and doing what you are doing...
I think people are being ridiculous throwing judgement around. NO BODY KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED. She hasnt released a statement and he obviously didnt go into detail..So before everyone jumps the gun and judges(im sure we ALL have made mistakes) People should mind their own business. Bashing/judging somone for their mistakes isnt going to make the situation better..its just adding fuel to the fire..People back off and let them handle it. And 19 is very young..People need to remember that he grew up in an abusive home...what good did he have to learn from his childhood....im sure if Chris was your son/brother/friend all you negative people would be singing a different tune.
I grew up in an abusive home. I don't punch people and strangle them when I'm mad. And 19 is an adult. If she had choked on her tongue when he left her unconscious and she died he could have been charged with murder. And no brain dead person would say that at 19 he's too young to be held accountable.
I would NOT be signing a different tune. Have you lost your mind? A negative person encourages negativity. Expecting him to be responsible for his actions is not negative. It implies that he is not a worthless caveman and can do better. This idea that to support Chris Brown is to let him off the hook is ridiculous. If you want to support him you would hope that he owns up to what he did and learns from it so that he won't be a woman beating animal. If you are a negative person you will want him to continue on in a valueless existence where there are no boundaries, rules, or laws, only his own needs and wants regardless of who it hurts.
MIND UR BUSINESS PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM A FAN OF BOTH. THEIR PERSONAL LIFE DOESNT INTEREST ME. I DONT KNOW THEM PERSONALLY SO AGAIN ITS NOT MY BUSINESS. LEAVE IT TO THE IMMEDIATE PEOPLE TO JUDGE.
If you want me to mind my business, mind your own business about me minding my business. B/c Domestic abuse is everyone's business. So it is my business.
Women.. you all need to come back to earth.. People don't harm people without reason, well there are some but in reality Chris Brown isn't one of them. Not to say this excuses him from his alleged crime, but there are pieces to the puzzle that are lost and haven't been found. Why did Chris Brown do such a horrified thing? We don't know.. Why were they arguing? We don't FULLY know the truth to that.. Why didn't Rhianna call the police before the hitting started.. well that was a dumb question but honestly I mean sources from other sources say that Rhianna said this was not the first time that Chris Brown has had an incident where abuse played a role.. Verbal I'm guessing.. But Ladies... If your dude hit you or got loud to a point where you thought he was going to hit you, would you stay..?
Something happened that night, I'm sure of it, we all are.. but what started out to be a conversation escaladed to be a night that will never be forgot.. Chris Brown, although by law he is innocent until proven guilty, is guilty.. guilty of not being able to control himself in the heat of the moment.
My final words.. Sometimes.. in certain situations.. we allow our emotions to get the best of us.. learn to have self control.. what once was never last forever..
email me your thoughts.. I'll chat about them on my Blog and YouTube
channel.. if you want that is..

Love Carrie's response. No one knows what actually went down! So sick of everyone passing judgment when they don't know the whole story. Love how everyone just thinks Chris is this abusive gf-beater now, without knowing what Rihanna was like. For all we know, she abused him for months and he just snapped, but even if that were the case, you'd never hear as much uproar!
Exactly!
He IS an abusive boyfriend. He put his girlfriend in the hospital. I never heard about Chris Brown being beaten unconscious and having to go to the hospital.... b/c I don't think that ever happened. I'm pretty sure it happened the OTHER way around. But I guess you live in Opposite Land. How is it in Opposite Land? There seems to be a lot of Chris Brown fans over there. Over here in the Real World it's a crime to beat anyone that badly... or actually at all... but over in Opposite Land it's Ok? Hmmmmm, that's interesting... I don't think I would like it in Opposite Land. Ima stay over here where there are laws, and standards for behavior.
What a half-assed, bullshit apology. Read more Chris Brown hating here: http://pop.ology.com/2009/02/16/quotent-quotables-chris-brown-is-sorry-sort-of/
Roseanne Barr had the best comment ever. It's on her blog!
I know. I loved it so much. I like a crusty bitch no and again. And she's so good at it. And in this particular case she's so incredibly right on.
Roseanne Barr needs to take her a** back to rehab or something...crazyy ladyy has some nerve to talk...
my point is that shit like this happen ecveryday and it stupid that it take chris and rihanna to make people realize this happen. Yes i do believe that he is sorry and my heart goes out to her. But Im mad because if it was chris yellow or ri ri it wouldnt be a big deal people will look at it like dam thats mess up and keep going on with there lives. There are thousand of women and men that has died from there mates beating them do that make the magazines no it dont even get a news articule in the paper. I was watching MTV and the did a whole special about chris and rihanna I thought that was so stupid people are getting abuses everyday this should had been a special long time ago but no sense chris do it like make money off it because this is serious but at the end of the day its not for us to forgive him its god and alot of people saying no he shouldnt be forgiving but it alot of rapper out their that has sold drug and killed people and turn around and make a hit record and tell u in the record that they did it we let stuff like that go. Its in god hand and from what i heard riihanna has forgive him so far he needs god and her to forgive him. I pray for him and her because they need it.
Forgive as God has forgiven us!!!! I pray for both parties involved because these two are so young. The Bible says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and it doesn't matter whether you killed someone or lied on someone it is ALL sin. But the beautiful part about it is God is still standing there with His arms wide open. I am in no way condoning any kind of violence, but I am saying this that no one is perfect. We all have things that we need to work on or change. I don't think that hitting someone means you are going to continue to do it. Believe me I would not have married my husband if that was true. He and I got into a domestic dispute over 10 years ago and he hit me. I was hurt, embarrassed, and shocked, but I also hit him for a whole year before that without him hitting me back and this particular time he snapped. We took some time and prayed about it and 10 and a half years later we are married with three kids and he has never laid a hand on me or acted like he wanted to. All I am saying is people change. Give this young man and woman time to change and get the help and healing they both need. I don't think they are too far gone for rehabilitation. God Bless!!!! Pray for them both and don't pass judgement because it could easily be one of us being persecuted. What if we ALL got we really deserved???
Brown,Brown there is nothing left to apologize now,I think it's all over nothing can be done what have you done to rihana. I just feel sorry for you.
