Vampire Love - On And Off Screen

Vampire Love - On And Off Screen

True Blood fans (and I hope there are a bunch of you out there), I have some juicy news!
Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin are officially an item! Yes, that's Bill and Sookie for HBO watchers. :)

TV Guide reports,

“We are together,”Moyer tells TV Guide Magazine exclusively on the True Blood set—right after finishing an intense scene where Bill and Sookie have a major lover’s quarrel.

“The reason it was dodged last year was very intentional on both our parts,” says Moyer. “It was very important to me that the cast and crew we were working with didn’t feel it was fickle, and didn’t feel it could possibly potentially encroach on their lives, you know, just like, ‘Oh the two stars are having a thing.’ We didn’t want to take anything away from the show. The show is the star, not the two people having a relationship.”

I wouldn't have cared either way. It was a slow love for me, but I am now a huge fan.

I live in Canadaland and I don't have HBO, but I really hope this show comes to one of the basic package networks, like in repeats or something, because I am a bonafide vampire lover. But, I haven't read the books, are they any good?

I tried to like the books. I read the first 4 and then gave up. They were "okay" but kinda cheesy. I'm just as torn about the show. It's good in some aspects but kinda dumb in others.

They are very good if you enjoy books that are dark and gritty. No teenage grade vampire fiction to be had by Charlaine Harris.

the first book is a tad slow but the rest are a lot better. 100 times better than the show which Alan Ball felt needed to be sexed up to the point of being a low grade porno with vamps. he basically ruined the books and Harris is stuck having to support him cause it would be tacky to say anything bad not to mention he has a contract that gives him the rights to the first five and first choice to pick up the rest (so basically even if she gripes she can't do anything practical about it).

so basically if you want a show full of cardboard characters and bare tits and ass with vampire blood subbed in for drug use and a bunch of pointless added characters, go for it.

if you want a pretty good mix of southern gothic dark humor with supernatural types (werewolves, fairies and such turn up in later books), some romance and some mystery. forget the show and read the books.

No, being a huge fan of something that isn't filled with cliques and vampires that sparkle wouldn't appeal to you I suppose. Got to have those jail bait loverboys like RP to light the way.

Wow, you're really clever, aren't you? I think you need a fresh bowl of Wheaties.

So we can't like True Blood and Twilight? I do! (And to be honest, I'm really not that into vampires. Strange, I know.)

And for the record, RP isn't jail bait. ;)

Cute couple!

I saw a two episodes and was surprised how offensive I found the show to be. I'm a freak in the bedroom; but I just didn't like vampire and human f*ck*ng scenes. Is just too nasty for my taste. Plus, the love scenes between human and demons is too violent and macabre. I'm a freak, but I draw the line in some things. I don't like the show and don't watch it.

Have we forgotten that it is TV, nothing real about it, isn't that why we watch TV for the fantasy of it, knowing it isn't real, even the news isn't that real nowadays....pure propaganda

I am a fan of anything with vampires... I liked True Blood, but it was pretty graphic, as above poster said.

The books though, I loved.

OMG! I LOVE True Blood!!!!

How romantic!!!!!

Tsk tsk tsk, what is Eric, Alcide, & Quinn going to think about this...ohhhhhhhhh no!!!! :o)

I do think that Kelly Pickler or Jessica Simpson would have made a better Sookie looks wise. I love Anna's acting, but I think those other two looked the part better>

Wow, what is it about the whole Twilight vs True Blood that gets everyone's panties up in a bunch? I've read so many posts on how Stephenie Meyer and the Moonlight TV show stole ideas from Charlaine Harris' books. Hasn't anyone read LJ Smith's The Vampire Diaries? These came out in the early 1990's. If anyone ripped anyone off, it was Charlaine Harris ripping off LJ Smith, except making it dirty and graphic. I love True Blood mind you, and Twilight and was/am a huge fan of Moonlight - but really, just get over the animosity towards other vampire books and enjoy what you have while you have it!

gotta agree with ya about the notion of who copied who. even mixing mystery and vamps ain't new. Tanya Harris did it years before Charlaine, who by the by didn't make her books are graphical and horndog as the show makes you think. that was all the writers of the show
as for the whole Twilight thing. my beef is that the books just suck. they are weakly written and so was the movie (I can't believe that writer was from Dexter and did a script that bad). Stephanie harps on how beautiful the vamps are over and over til you wanna puke and then drops in this casual notion of Edward as a lonely soul they believed would never find someone that would love him. but then it's back to 'he's so pretty'. and Bella is nothing. no backbone, no character to her. it's like she wants Edward, wait for it, yep cause he's so pretty. and neither of the actors are. they aren't ugly but they aren't sure aren't what was set up in the books. nor is the rest of the cast. total fail in my books. and it would be that way regardless of True Blood, Blood Ties, Moonlight or whatever

LOL that is too cool, I thought that they were together for awhile tho. Anyways, I havent read Twilight or seen the movie, but from what I know it does sound very similar to The Vampire Diaries, like someone mentioned in a above post. Good vs Evil Vampires that fight over a girl, and its set in the modern day. She falls for the good vampire and becomes a outcast at school. Is this basically the plot for Twilight also?? If so thats kinda lame, I actually heard that they were going to make Vampire Diaries into a television series or something, so maybe then everyone will see the similarities. Anyways, thats just my opinion.

I am so happy for these two. They make a wonderful couple and I wish them many years of happiness. Ok So I'm a big romantic, but why not considering we hear so much negative news everyday it is nice to hear something positive for a change. If you love True Blood check at http://truebloodnet.com.

Definitely loves the show, my husband and I both watch it, we are missing it right now, so for it to have been mentioned, regarding these two being in love is oh so sweet. I loved him in Starter Wife too as a homeless man he still looked good, even as a dead man/vampire he is sexy.
