Jennifer Lopez And Marc Anthony Sue Pram Company For $5 Million

British stroller company Silver Cross used images of Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony pushing their twins in one of their prams as part of their new advertising campaign without getting permission from the celebrity family.

Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.

This angered Jen and Mark and they are now suing for $5 million smackaroos. A trademark infringement lawsuit was filed in a LA district court on Wednesday because the duo felt Silver Cross deceived the public into "believing that Lopez and Anthony endorse and sponsor" the brand.

Besides the $5 million, they also want any money made up until this point from the advertisement.

Yikes!

Umm but doesnt that mean they actually DO support the line if they were photographed USING the product without being paid for it ? Thats way better then a star being paid millions and hating a product. Yes I do understand the company shouldnt have used their image but you get my drift.

  2. thanks for posting this Vera- I am going to link to it from my PR blog as I think it would drive home the idea to not take celeb product displays for granted as so many clients tend to do!

ugh I hate these two money grubbers. That’s all they care about! Jen makes plenty of money to cover her entire family and then some so she shouldn’t be complaining about dwindling funds. Yes, the company should have asked permission to use their image for advertising but $5 million??? + profits? Outrageous! Asking for the profits is one thing… I hope they settle for something more reasonable or just drop it.

  4. Nimbus says:

I can understand they are peeved… but $5 million… .REALLY, comeon thats ridiculous… what do they need that sum of money for….

  5. Ladylala says:

I can understand suing just cos they used their photos, and celebs always do that, but to demand the PROFITS since? What’s wrong with them? Running short on cash? I doubt that.

That’s not cool that company is making money off their image. Plus it’s not fun to wake up and see your face all over a billboard or magazine!

  12. lara jane says:

Definitely not cool. I understand why they’re suing but what do they plan to do with that money if they win?

  13. mascara says:

    That’s ridiculous.
I can see suing for the money they may have made from you but an extra 5 million? That’s just getting greedy.

  14. ErikaLT says:

Exactly…any money made of the makes sense…but an extra $5million… unless they wanted to make a statement?? Kind of a “so no one else tries to use our image”??

  15. Anonymous says:

THEY BETTER DONATE EVERY PENNY OF THAT. Good grief.

  16. ito says:

    agreed on the donation idea.

  17. gia says:

Those selfish cows probably wont donate a red cent of it. Believe it.

usually the lawyers send a letter to the “offending” party on behalf of their client; to stop using their clients image or else. In Jennifer and Marc’s case they need the money, so they go right ahead and sue. Her records suck, her clothing line is silly, her prefumes are not selling; during these times she needs all she can get, fat bottom bitch.

  19. Anonymous123 says:

GREEDY IS RIGHT! I can understand that the company has no rights using their image to promote their product without their permission but $5 MILLION?? They better donate!
