Kara DioGuardi Opens Up To Women’s Health Magazine

The newest American Idol judge, Kara DioGuardi, talked to Women’s Health Magazine about all kinds of things, but especially: being the "new kid" on American Idol, finding her "niche" as a judge, and what she thinks it takes to be a star.

So what’s it like to be new on the show?

Well, I already knew Paula and Randy. But I didn’t know Simon that well.It was about respecting these three people, who have been doing this for a long time, but also trying to be honest and be myself."

How about finding her "niche" as a judge?

It’s more about ‘What side of myself am I going to show?’ I can be tough, but I can also be nurturing. It’s hard to be critical with young people. You don’t want to disappoint them, but you also don’t want to send them down a path when you [know] they won’t be successful."

And, for the piece of advice that I’m sure some of you have been waiting for, what’s Kara’s "secret recipe" for stardom?

Individuality, hard work, and having something to say. You’ve got to have heart and be bold."

Kara talks about a lot more in the March issue of Women’s Health!

    There’s something about her that I just don’t like…I just can’t describe it…it’s just a gut feeling.

That picture of her on the cover of the magazine doesn’t look like her in ANY way. In fact, I am not sure it is her, is it?

  4. Anonymous says:

It’s not her on the cover. She just has an article inside the magazine.

i agree with the person that said they have never heard of her before idol…i now realize that she does have true talent and that she is fit to be an american idol judge.
