Julia Roberts’ Kids Eat Kale

Kind of shocking, I’ll admit. Most kids love French fries, Julia Roberts’ kids love kale. Hey, whatever floats your boat!

She talks about the organic garden the family grows in New Mexico. What a FUN idea.

"The children love it and I think it’s the best training for them. I
think when children know their food sources they’re more inclined to
eat what they’re growing because they’re so proud of it. To watch my
kids eat kale is a pretty proud moment for me as a mom."

Julia also adds that though it might seem she’s taken a break from working, the actress in her is still there.

"Of course life has changed and I work less, but I was never one to
work too much. I never did years of movie-after-movie-after-movie but
when you’ve got three toddlers in the house you’re performing all day
long, anyway, with puppet shows and stories – I act around the clock."

And she says that much has changed since she started out.

"It has to be very confusing and difficult to be a young woman in Hollywood today," she says.

"The
focus is so surgical on these girls, on everything they wear and every
detail of their lives and in quite a negative way. I really don’t know
how they handle it."

Hmmm, organic garden…getting my kids to eat kale…the wheels are turning. :)

She’s definitely right, growing what you eat and appreciating it all the more. You raise your kids to be picky eaters, they aren’t born that way (says the picky girl who married an eat-any-kind-of-food boy!).

“The focus is so surgical on these girls” is the most accurate (yet disconcerning) quite I have heard in a very long time. It’s time to focus on REAL things… not one’s we make up for gossips sake. The stories make themselves.

She is right. We had a garden when my kids were little and they loved it. They helped with the planting and harvesting and they ate it all. I made potato and kale soup. Yummy!!!

I have a friend whose son only wants to eat pizza or burger. He also refuses to drink milk without chocolate. He was 2 when I met him (he is 3 now). So he wouldn’t eat anything except pizza or burger. The problem is his parents are broke people. So everytime they buy groceries, they have to buy the pizza and burgers first and then the other stuff. One day I suggested them buy those $1 frozen pizza and they bluntly told me that the little boy knows the difference between a high-quality pizza and the dollar ones. I was amazed. I don’t think that 2-year old boy taught himself to only eat expensive pizza and burger. But it happens! BTW, I love kale too.

This kid sounds like a spoiled brat. I agree, it’s the parents’ fault. But it is wrong for you to assume that just because someone is broke, that all they can afford is pizza and burgers.

  9. Anonymous says:

That’s crap. There is NO WAY I would be breaking the bank to buy a kid junk food because he refuses to eat anything else. Buy healthy food that you can afford. He’ll eat it when he gets hungry enough. Parents that cater to their brat kids like this are the reason that kids are so lazy and demanding anymore.

Wow. A movie star mom who says she’s going to take time off and raise her kids and actually does it!!!!!!! Love Julia.

  11. Anonymous says:

WOW is right…!! a movie star who not only went after a married man, but she also harrassed his wife to give him a divorced, offered her money to divorce him….and wore a t-shirt around town that said “A LOW DOWN VERA”. Danny’s ex-wife’s name when she would not give in to Julia’s demands. Yes, isn’t Julia just great???? you got to love her!!…moron!!

Well at least there aren’t photos of her topless nuzzling a horse and she never wore anyone’s blood in a vial around her neck or inappropriately kissed her brother in public or had her husband tell some reporter on the red carpet that “We fucked in the car on the way here” or cut herself or abused drugs…shall I continue.

    Julia had one low moment…BFD

  13. Anonymous says:

Why did you have to comment? pathetic…

  16. Anonymous says:

Does it make a difference how it was worded? ” a low down Vera” or “a low Vera”? Julia is still a disgusting person. Julia had the nerve to talk about Angelina…..the nerve. Well to appease you …….the t-shirt said “A LOW VERA”…..ok?

  17. Anonymous says:

LOL…you make me laugh seriously, calling someone pathetic because they comment..yet you comment too..tsk tsk tsk…pot kettle, kettle pot…LOL!!

  18. Anonymous says:

ooooooooooooooh the NERVE of someone like Julia Roberts who is basically a decent human being dissing a phony smug beeyotch like Mangelina. The NERVE of that woman.

  19. Anonymous says:

I’m glad you laughed. Laughing is good. That was the intention.

  20. Anonymous says:

Angelina and Julia are both cut from the same cloth..whor*s who don’t care if a man is married or not. Julia is trash just like Angelina. Hollywood is full of them. You call Julia a decent human being? a decent human being doesn’t set her claws on a married man, and goes after him regardless of his wife or kids. Oh but, you’re probably the type to do that so I’m wasting my time.

  21. Anonymous says:

Yeah, I make sure to set my claws on a married man despite his having a wife (HAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAA) and kids every month or so. Keeps me out of trouble.

  22. Anonymous says:

anon @ 4:04 you sound jealous of Angelina..yes you are jealous….the more her fame grows, so does her haters…oh well she goes on.

  23. Anonymous says:

LOL..you sound like you need mental help…what a looney..LOL. I think is best I stop talking to you crazy bitch, I don’t want to be responsible if you “crack”. You’re taking this site waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too seriously…step away from the ledge looney.

  24. Anonymous says:

Actually, I’m jealous of Julia. I love New Mexico and gardening.

  25. Ha says:

This whole thread is hilarious. As if celebrities live their lives any different than thousands of non-celebs do all over the world. Grow up, kids.

  26. gretel says:

Well, peas are my favourite food ever since I can remember, because of my nanny. I think it helps a lot when people around eat well too. Kids go towards what they see.

  27. ito says:

im pretty sure she flavored it with bacon grease, salt & pepper…you know how only grandmas can.

  28. Gisela says:

Maybe some day, there will be a young starlet who will set her claws into Danny on the set of her new movie…just saying.
