Rebecca Romijn On Her Way To The Gym

Rebecca Romijn kept things low key as she headed to the gym in Calabasas, California yesterday morning to meet with her personal trainer. I want to talk about the personal trainer and whether or not it's worth the extra money.

INO readers who work out - do you use one? Have you in the past? Is it something you do a few times do to understand what your gym session should look like and then quit? Or is it a life long commitment?

I understand why celebs do it - they want the best results as soon as possible. But for someone who has made the lifelong decision to exercise, is it worth it?

A personal trainer is 100% worth it for people who have never worked out before and for unmotivated people. They will teach you how to properly work out so you actually get results. Worth it if you are serious about getting fit. If you want to bs dont waste your time or money, trainers hate when people hire them and proceed to not take the work out seriously.

I used one when I was just starting to work out. I told her from the beginning that I essentially just wanted her to show me what to do so that I could continue on my own (a student's budget does not include a personal trainer). It was somewhat worth it. I'm very committed to the gym, I go about 5-6 days a week, and I follow some of what the trainer told me, but for the most part I like to do my own thing and I've had great results. Sometimes I watch what the trainers will tell other people and then will incorporate that into my workout if it seems beneficial (shhh). The good thing about a trainer is that everyone's body is different, so they can often show you better workouts for your specific body type/fitness level.

I think it's definitely worth the money when you're starting out and don't know where to begin or what to do. Long-term? I don't think so.

Personal trainers are there to help motivate you to work out, show you new exercise routines and workouts. If you keep doing the same exercises, your body reaches a plateau and you won't see any results. You need to keep your body motivated to do different things and to switch it up every once in a while. A trainer can show you all that with their expertise. I wish I could afford a trainer, but my gym charges an arm and a leg for it. What I do now to get new ideas and motivation is to cut out exercise routines from fitness magazines. It seems to work out fine, but every once in a while you need that push from a personal trainer.

I have had 5 sessions with a personal trainer in the past month and definately notice a difference in my muscle definition and overall fitness. If you have the extra money, I think it is definitely worth it!

a little of the subject, but, what's with the short sleeves and a scarf? If it's cold out shouldn't she wear a coat? Or if it isn't cold, WTF is with the scarf. maybe it's just me, but It seems a little too weird 4 me.

But, yes personal trainers are worth the money. They are there to help you work right and to help you want to do the work. Many people say they can work out but, when it comes down to it, they just slack off.

I had a trainer when I wanted to lose weight and train for sports, but after the first 3months of that I lost enough weight and felt like I knew what I was doing. I think it was worth having the trainer at first but not forever.

totally worth it...you will always get better results if you have a trainer...a good trainer will keep you from getting stuck in a rut and keep you motivated...I've never had one, but I have plenty of friends who are trainers...it's not that it would be a waste of money...it's just a luxury...like joining the gym...maybe you want to stretch and run outside vs. joinin the gym...maybe you want to thug it out yourself and take gym classes vs. getting a trainer...I plan on getting one after having a baby...not before...but let me just say that if I do not see any results after my recent reintroduction to the gym, I'm going to have to seriously consider a personal trainer...but I am hoping to save that money...also don't think you need one all the time...at my gym they have the bootcamp programs from like January till May with the personal trainer...that should be suffiecient.

If I could afford one I'd get one. My sister has one she meets with a few times a week. She has 4 kids and she looks AMAZING! The personal trainer helps change things up in her workout routine, she has had one for a couple of years now and I don't see her stopping anytime soon. The results are worth the money, that is if you have the money to part with.
