Eva Longoria Says Marriage Is A Constant Honeymoon
I watched this live yesterday and was hoping someone would post the video online of Eva Longoria on The Rachael Ray Show. The actress says she is really happy and doesn't mind the long distant relationship with husband Tony Parker.
"(When we’re together) it is a honeymoon, because we only have three days together and we hardly fight because we know we don’t have much time. All the little things that couples argue about - we let them slide."
Watch the video and let me know what you think about her take on marriage. Is it possible for two people with normal lives to remain in the honeymoon phase?
And in other news, doesn't Gabrielle Reese look fantastic?!

It's definitely possible, for couples who are away from each other a lot. My hubby is gone for about six months every year, and when we're together it really does feel like a honeymoon. It's hard to be apart, but it's definitely good for a marriage, in my opinion.
Gabrielle DOES look great! I have never seen her wear makeup before. LOL! "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." If it works for Eva & Tony, more power to them!

Having a marriage where there is no fighting is a lie. Having any kind of relationship that doesn't have any kind of disagreement means the other person must be a push over.

My husband and I don't fight. We figure that the little stuff isn't worth fighting about. Both then we both grew up in houses where our parents fought a lot, so I think it depends on the people. We talk about EVERYTHING though. If something is bothering one of us, we talk about it like adults. We've never had a fight and are extremely happy. So no, not fighting doesn't mean that people are push overs, it just means that they don't fight.
I think that some disagreements are fine, but full-out arguing? That should never be par for any relationship. My boyfriend and I get along wonderfully and have never really fought about anything. He and I do talk things out, but we take time out to gather our thoughts (if it's a sensitive issue) and to avoid emotional blow-ups.
Isn'it funny that celebs don't fight? Brad also said in in interview that he and Angie don't fight. So did Ashton when he was on Oprah. I thought every couples fight!

To be honest, it's very possible. My husband and I hardly fight... we've been together for almost 14 years.

Hubby probably would if I was a fighter, but I'm not. Granted I will argue my case, but I don't scream and yell. I did it once and it felt like I was going to have a stroke. I didn't like that feeling, it made me feel worse and not better so why do it. We do have disagreements and will argue but screaming, yelling and name calling is off limits. I also feel you can discuss issues like adults, you don't have to fight. We have been married over 30 years.

I think when people talk about fighting they usually mean arguing, not screaming and name-calling. My hubby and I definitely fight (argue) but name-calling and screaming would be abusive.
You're in your 50s and your avatar is Posh Spice? No wonder you don't argue, obviously your capacity to discuss "adult" issues is quite limited.
Hey Anon (Mar 5, 2009 @ 05:55 PM)-
Who peed on your cheerios? Judging a person off of an avatar is so mature... The definition of a perfect marriage or relationship vary from person to person. There is no set definiton. People have different personalities and based on their different personalities marriage will be a different experience for all. Stop living with definitons and just live life. Adults are not always mature, otherwise, there'd be no war in the world. Serious arguments are started BY ADULTS and not children, so take a second to refelct on that. Mr/Mrs adult...

whatevva eva...
Great interview!
fighting is actually healthy and make your relationship stronger...it's not what you fight, it's how you fight and listening is the key. I don't want my hubby to agree with everything I say - how boring would that be?....I might as well married to myself - if we're too much alike and always agreeing with everything. It's important to learn how to voice your opinion and express your feelings.
What kind of marriage is that? I get to come home to my souse every night, thank goodness.
oops, my SPOUSE!
WAIT a minute.... is the interviewer the girlfriend of one of the guys from THE TOOL ACADEMY (VH1) ??????
im pretty sure she's the one who left the show with the boyfriend, because he refuse taking the lie detector test. And she suspected that he cheated on her in the past.

Tony Parker loves him some stripper action. I don't know or if their marriage is open, whatever. What I do know is that there is one woman who he hangs with more than any attached monogamous man should.
It can be lovely to spend time apart, have your own life, then share valuable time when reunited. Perhaps that other woman is part of the plan to keep him satisfied.
