Julia Roberts On Her Chemistry With Clive Owen And Love Scenes

Julia Roberts sat down with E! Daily 10 to talk about her new film, Duplicity. She also talked about working with co-star Clive Owen, why they go well together on-screen, and her attitude about love scenes.

It’s energy, chemistry is energy, right? Like we have chemistry. I’m being serious. I do think it’s energy, so Clive and I have similar sense of humor and that translates itself when you try to package it as sexual or romantic. It’s the same thing."

I never thought of chemistry between co-stars like this, but it makes sense, doesn’t it?

As for doing love scenes in general…

Oh I try to avoid it at every turn. I’ve kissed through sheets ’cause I just think it’s bizarre.’

Roberts continues: ‘People go ‘Oh is it sexy?’ What is sexy about 60 people standing there going, ‘Is it lunch yet?’ "

And that’s from a veteran of the business ;)

You can catch Julia’s entire interview tonight at 7:30 pm ET/PT on E! Daily 10.

Duplicity looks like a good film, too!

I’m sure if it has Julia Roberts in it, it will be a good movie!

From what I’ve seen of those trailers, that “chemistry” between them looks forced. I think this movie is gonna tank. I say this and I actually love Clive Owen and think she’s OK too. Still … that movie looks like it’s going to be something they’ll both choose to forget doing.

That would probably get old having 60 ppl watching you kiss! haha

Typical self absorbed Scorpio narcissist. Oh and Julia, was it fun having an affair with a very much married man? Then trying to pay his wife off?

I totally agree- she is a homewrecker and not a good actress. I love Clive Owen, but I just can’t watch her, so I won’t be seeing this.

  8. lettibe says:

I remember that very clearly, blah, blah, blah. She is a homewrecker.

The two of them had zero chemistry in 2004′s Closer. I don’t expect that this movie should be any different.
