Katie Holmes Starts Children’s Fashion Line With Jeanne Yang

Suri is the inspiration and stylist Jeanne Yang is her partner.

It’s been a little over a year in the making, but Katie Holmes is finally ready to reveal that she has been designing a children’s clothing line for the masses.

We’ve already seen several quotes released from her Glamour Magazine interview, but here Katie is talking about her new fashion endeavor.

"Jeanne Yang and I have been working together. We started about a year ago, sketching different things, trying to find comfortable clothing for our daughters that is also pretty and cute… We both grew up with mothers who sewed."

It’s not ready for the stores just yet! There is a lot of work left to be done.

"We just started, and we’ve played around with doing things for women as well."

Moms, aunts, grandmas, friends – what do you think? Are you looking forward to seeing what Katie comes out with?

Why would Suri be her inspiration? She needs to stop acting like the kid is a dress up doll and put her in something practical for a child. There’s always special occasions for that sort of thing but walking down a city sidewalk or playing in a park (with no other kids) isn’t one of them.

Sounds like she’s exploiting a designer to get her name out there. Katie you will never be taken seriously in the fashion world. Please stick to “acting” *coughalthoughyoucan’tactcough*!!!

Katie is going to have one heck of an Empty Next Syndrome when Suri moves out someday. She is really obsessed with being Suri’s best friend.

I’m curious to see what she has in store for the public. Suri always looks adorable in her dresses, and Katie dresses comfortably, although her style is not my cup of tea – don’t like the boyfriend jeans trend.

Suri is probably one of the Best Dressed celebrity babies out there.

I don’t even think they treat their daughter like she’s human.

Why would we be motivated to buy clothes katebot designs? Just because she entered into a contract with a crazy scientologist, doesn’t mean she has become uber talented at any task she decides to undertake. I think she has very poor tastes in clothing and can’t see how anything she might “design” would be worth buying. I think both her and the GMD she married are extremely strange.

Best dressed to go to a party…if you don’t mind your little girl destroying an insanely expensive dress.

Got this magazine and she’s so beautiful. Heartwarming full of grace interview too. We’ll see if her clothing line really happens but Im sure they will be so pretty just like her and Suri or even do well. What Katie does always brings attention and good sales.

What a beauty. Im looking forward to this.

After seeing the way Katie Holmes dresses lately, I would be a little leary of her fashion line (both child and adult). Hope she does good though!

I’m assuming she’d be designing the sorts of things that Suri would wear, which means high end party dresses. Girl or boy, for a child that age I’d be looking more for rough and tumble playclothes that go well from sandbox to mudpuddle and don’t cost a fortune because they’ll be outgrown soon. I do get one catalog that has gorgeous special occasion clothes, and I don’t know if there’s room in that market for Kqte to do well. Plus, at this point I’m not sure if she has positive or negative name recognition. It’s a tough one, but if the dresses are done well I suppose they’ll sell.

the clothes will probably cost a fortune and even if it’s the most beautiful girl dress i won’t buy it b/c the money will directly flow into that cult she belongs to.

    yep…my thoughts exactly.

Please send me a list of all the current clothing designers who are christians. I would hate to endorse any person who is motivated or believes in their religion.

You are the type of person that fuels the great divide in the “United States” and an especially ignorant one at that. If Katie Holmes and her “cult” as you so eloquently described, single-handedly discovered a way to deliver cheap renewable non-pollutant energy to every home in America, I guess you would do without since a portion of profits might go to benefit her religious affiliations, whatever they may be.

Single-minded short-sighted ignorant bigots like you in this world are the reason I’d like an island of my own far away from civilization. That way, when your collective animosity reaches its peak, you can blow each other off the face of the planet and I’ll be mostly unaffected by your idiocy.

*(Informative Addendum – I don’t even know what “cult” Katie belongs to… but I respect her right to believe in and support what she wants.)*

The few times she has shown up to an event wearing something she designed, it looked terrible. She is not a designer, just another celebrity who wants a clothing line. I would not buy any of her things.

  19. Sporky says:

No. I’m not really thrilled with how she dresses. Plus as someone said above, I don’t want to give any money to Co$.

    No. Just no.

Let me guess, is it a line of empire-waisted, full-skirted, short-sleeved dresses with flats for little girls?

Suri always looks like she’s going to a party or to church on Easter Sunday. It’s cute, but not practical. I remember when my nieces were little….my sisters threw them in a pair of underwear and turned them loose in the backyard..lol. If they sent them out to play dressed like Suri….the clothes would’ve been ruined. I feel bad for her…..she doesn’t get to play like other kids. Look at the Afflecks kids and the Jolie-Pitt kids. They are always wearing comfy play clothes. Kids should be kids….not dolls you dress up.

  24. Anonymous says:

Hell no! She dresses that kid of her like crap most of the time. Nothing ever matches. I’m sure they would tell you she picks out her own things but a 2-3 year old shouldn’t have that kind of say. If they do, they are a brat which is actually pretty self evident.

  25. Anonymous says:

My little girl is 16 months old…Every morning when we get ready to go out for the day she has her choices in clothes. I pick out two pairs of pants and two sweaters and she gets to pick which ones she wants. And then she gets to pick out her own socks and choose which shoes she wants to wear for that day. She is NOT a brat. I’m teaching her to make decisions that are well placed. It’s how you teach children to make choices to begin with, give them a few things to pick from that are reasonable and then let them decide. It’s called encouraging independance.
But no…I would never dress my little girl the way Katie Holmes dresses her daughter…dresses and slippery flats are NOT a good idea for playtime.
