Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester is looking to be one busy lady, capitalizing on all the opportunities that come from being on a show with lots of buzz.  Smart move!  According to E! Online's Marc Malkin, Leighton is making the jump to movies with a recently-completed deal to star in a thriller called The Roommate. 

As if filming one movie during the Gossip Girl hiatus isn't enough, Leighton is trying to close the deal for a second movie called Beastly (a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast).  Zac Efron was reportedly up for the male lead at one point.

'Leighton really wants to do it,' the source says. 'They're trying to
figure out how she could do the two movies before she starts shooting
another season of Gossip Girl.' "

And as if two movies weren't enough, Leighton is also recording an album! Her reps are reportedly working on a deal with a major studio.

Does she sleep?  Well, if you have to lose sleep, these are great reasons to do so!
