Tyson Beckford Disses On Celeb Magazine Covers
I'm not sure if we should take him seriously, seeing as how he himself is a model turned actor. But, Tyson Beckford really doesn't like when things go the other way. He longs for the days when supermodels dominated the glossies.
Beckford, host of Bravo’s “Make Me a
Supermodel,” says that when celebs do product ads or grace the cover of
fashion magazines, they take jobs away from models.The
38-year-old says it takes “a lot of tweaking and airbrushing to get the
same from a celebrity that you would get from a model.”
OUCH!
But, in this day and age there aren't really any big name supermodels are there? Kate Moss is the last of a dying breed. If Elle, Cosmo and Vogue started putting faces of models that we don't recognize on their covers would people still buy?
This man is sooo gorgeous. It's like God came down and personally molded his face a body. It's like looking at a piece of artwork when you stare at him. I agree with him, I bet they never have to airbrush him, for all the other so called "hearthrobs" out there ( Brad, Clooney, Pattison), they don't even compare to this perfect creature....I love you Tyson Beckford.

He sounds a little bitter. Maybe he's lost out some covers to celebs? I actualy like seeing a fresh face every now and then and not the same celebs on the covers over and over.

While we might not have "the Supers" anymore (although they all graciously welcomed Gisele as the last of them), there are still plenty of famous models out there to anyone who pays attention. Vogue uses the same girls over and over in their spreads (Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam, Chanel Iman, etc.). But I agree--I want a model to be on the cover! I read blogs and glossies for the celeb scoop. When my Vogue arrived with Blake Lively on the cover, I almost immediately put it in the recycling. Just because she's on a show about clothes doesn't mean I want to see her amaturely posing in them.
Maybe some models would be more known and have a shot at becoming supermodels if they had more covers.

Many covers put Celebs first , its like Singers actor and the rest of people dont have nothin to do ! but DIS IS the same thing for music industry ! this is OUR GENERATION !!! EVERYBODY PRETENDS TO KNOW HOW TO DO THINGS BUT ANYBODY TRULY KNOW !

I refuse to buy any magazine with any celebrity on the front. They never have anything valid to say and if I want a fashion mag I want high fashion models. If I want a fitness mag I want fitness models. Most celebrities are butt fuckin ugly without their make up on. I am so over celberities endorsing and 'modeling' everything is so lame and its just dragging down Holyweird. Now I cant watch a movie without knowing EVERYTHING about the actor. All the allure is gone.

She looks so much better since she lost all of her 'baby weight'. When she was 15 or 16 she was a lot chubbier and didn't look at all like a model.
Shainia is too young for him, she is also choosing the bad road at a young age, on the make me a super model show she cheated, slept with another model for the answers and then when he wasn't doing anything for her she moved on to tyson, thinking he can do something for her....she was 17 on that show and barely 18, already f**king people to get a career... she is gonna crash and burn. Beside that man is damaged, slept with many men in his industry ( ask wendy williams) and women and still is....wake up shanina and discover yourself and be a strong women....sad that girls have to f**k there way to success! RUN girl and run fast cuz he likes them young and stupid!
What you say about Shanina's behavior on MMAS is completely defamatory. Where is your evidence that she slept with Tom? IIRC, Tom's the one who manipulated her into getting what HE wanted, knowing how desperate she was for the answers. OK, so she wasn't perfect, and yes, the cheating was a huge mistake, but saying she slept with him????
