Reese Witherspoon Buys Daughter A Pet Pig

Reese Witherspoon Buys Daughter A Pet Pig

I recently met my good friend for brunch in Brooklyn (Bubbys - have you been?) with the rest of the family. After our meal, we headed to a local park so my children could get their energy out. There was quite a commotion by the entrance gates. Once we made it through the crowd, we saw that a couple had brought out their two pet pigs for a walk and all the children wanted to take pictures with them. It was crazy - but they were so well behaved!

You just have to be careful about buying the right type of pig I suppose. Wouldn't want the one that grows to be hundreds of pounds! Hopefully, Reese Witherspoon did her homework because the actress recently admitted she bought her daughter Ava a pig for a pet.

Unfortunately, she's had to change her diet because the little girl refuses to eat anything pork these days.

His name’s Booker T. Washington - my daughter is studying American history
. She won’t eat pork, she won’t eat bacon, and I have to be very careful with what I eat."

Don't they sh!t all over the place? It's not like a dog or a cat where they're trained to go. It's mighty disgusting if you have to clean up after pigs. But then again, they probably have hired staff to take care of that sh!t (literally).

Actually, they are MUCH smarter and cleaner than dogs!! If it's a small pet pig, picking up after it is no different than you would for a dog (wear a disposable plastic glove when you take it for a walk)

8:25 is right, pigs are brilliant, that's the problem. I had a pet pig. Whenever I did something it didn't like, She would shred my shoes. They are extremely vindictive animals. That being said, she was a really cool pet.

Sorry about your shoes, but this made me laugh. Hopefully she didn't go after your favorite pairs of shoes... :)

I dont think she will have the pig in the house. She bought a farm so I am sure she has a place for it.

I wasn't attempting to ruin your day with my anecdote, I was mearly trying to re-enforce my point. That pigs are incredibly intelligent. I don't know why you bothered to comment, as you had nothing constructive to add. Maybe I'm mistaken but I thought that was the whole point of a comment section.

pigs are not pets, people!!!

That's one thing wrong with Jake, he loves dogs and he even eats with them, they are cute but not when you have 5 and they are big and disgusting!

Anonymous Anonymous said:

Of course they are!!!

Pot bellied pigs are definitely pets, if you know how to be a responsible owner. But that said, Reese has a farm where the pig lives. And it was clear in the interview that Reese didn't buy the pig. Jay Leno gave it to her as a gift when he found out about the farm.

I hope Leno checked with her first. That's a huge responsibility.

Pigs are one of the smartest animals ever! I love that her daughter is smart enough to realize this. So cute!

with all the dogs and cats and pigs up for adoption you think she would go that route and teach her daughter a lesson. don't breed or buy while shelter animals die. peoples ignorance never fails to amaze me.

I appreciate all kinds of pets at home if they are clean enough, of course:) When I was a child I wanted to have a monkey, but now dogs are my favourite. I wouldn't take pig probably but I think they are very cute animals and not only for the meat, I also don't eat pork!
